About this hotel
General information
Shebara occupies Sheybarah Island in the middle of the Red Sea and is made up entirely of villas: 38 stand over the water and 35 line a beach of fine white sand. The overwater villas, with their distinctive architecture, have become the island’s signature, and every villa, on the water or on the sand, has its own pool and plenty of room for privacy.
The island has five restaurants and bars — from a Levantine grill by the family pool to Nikkei cooking and a Mediterranean restaurant that makes its own pasta — along with a spa, a gym, padel and tennis courts, a dive centre and a water sports centre. Each villa has a personal butler who arranges tables, treatments and transfers, and guests get around the island by buggy.
Location
Sheybarah Island lies in the Red Sea, a short way off the Saudi Arabian coast. From Red Sea International Airport it is about a 30-minute seaplane flight, or a 30-minute drive to the mainland jetty followed by a 30–40-minute boat ride. Guests arriving in their own car can park for free at the jetty and take the boat across, which needs to be booked in advance.
Spa
The Spa at Shebara is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm, with the last appointment at 9 pm. Its menu covers signature and holistic treatments using locally sourced botanical ingredients, water therapies and the Serene Vitality Pool, technology-assisted facials, hammam rituals built around deep exfoliation, and manicures and pedicures.
Sports & leisure
The resort has a gym, padel and tennis courts, a dive centre and a water sports centre, as well as wellness activities. There are astronomy sessions, and the resort arranges private experiences on request.
For children
The resort has a kids’ club.
Restaurants & bars
Five venues cover the day from breakfast to late evening, and meals can also be served in the villa:
- Lunara — a polished brasserie with an international menu, serving breakfast and lunch
- Saria — the beachside bar and grill at the family pool, with modern Levantine dishes, grills and light bites facing the sea, from morning until sunset
- Ariamare — a Mediterranean dinner restaurant with fresh pasta made in its own pasta lab and seasonal produce from land and sea
- Iki.roe — Nikkei cooking that brings together Japanese and Peruvian flavours, with an open kitchen and a chef’s-choice omakase
- Solera — an adults-only poolside bar with botanical signature drinks and small plates of Red Sea produce, set up for the sunset
Swimming
The beach villas open straight onto the white sand, and the overwater villas sit above the sea. Every villa has its own pool, most of them infinity-edged, and the resort adds an adults-only pool and a family pool.
