Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh

About this hotel

General information

The hotel fills the 30th to 50th floors of a 99-storey tower in Olaya, so nearly every window looks far down across the city towards the edge of the desert. Interiors pair a quiet, contemporary luxury with Saudi motifs: rooms alternate between amber, amethyst and emerald tones, while the suites bring in modern artwork and wallpapers with a grey, gold or silver sheen.

There are 276 rooms and suites, and the hotel works equally well for business trips and short city breaks in the capital. It is best known for the French cooking of Café Boulud and the intimate Julien tasting room, for its spa and modern health club, and for its large ballrooms and conference garden, which host gatherings of up to 3,000 people.

Location

The hotel stands on Olaya Street in Riyadh’s Olaya business district, close to the main commercial areas, shopping centres and cultural sights of the capital. Riyadh’s international airport is 30 km away, about 30 minutes by car; the hotel arranges transfers by Mercedes-Benz sedan, SUV or minivan, the concierge can organise car rental, and valet parking runs around the clock.

Spa

The spa, set within the tower, is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Its menu includes the Ancient Ritual, a Moroccan hammam ritual finished with a honey and royal jelly mask, hot volcanic stone massage, massages with warm and cool porcelain Lava Shells, the Epicutis facial collection, scrubs, wraps and aromatic baths, and longer Journeys and Rituals packages. A separate recovery menu offers Jetboots compression, TheraGoggles light therapy, Therabody percussion massage and an LED face mask.

Sports & leisure

The 24-hour fitness centre has cardio and weight-training equipment, an indoor squash court, a studio for private classes and certified trainers on request, along with table tennis.

The concierge arranges trips out of town and around the city: to the cliffs of the Edge of the World on the Tuwaiq Escarpment, reached on hiking trails of varying difficulty or by 4x4; to the red sand dunes 65 km from the hotel for dune driving, sandboarding and buggy rides; and a historic Riyadh tour taking in At-Turaif in Diriyah, an 18th-century mud-brick district, Souq Al Zal and the National Museum.

Restaurants & bars

Dining centres on French cooking, served with Saudi hospitality:

  • Café Boulud — French restaurant in a vintage setting with a touch of New York: seasonal classics and modern dishes, a cheese library, a lounge and a glass conservatory for breakfast, lunch and dinner in natural light
  • Julien — an intimate room within Café Boulud with a handful of seats facing the open kitchen and a ten-course tasting menu; open Wednesday and Thursday evenings
  • World of Flavours Brunch — Friday brunch at Café Boulud with Mediterranean dishes, French classics, live cooking stations and a dedicated dessert room
  • Obaya Lounge — all-day lounge in the spirit of Saudi hospitality, serving afternoon tea on a tiered stand shaped like the tower
  • Tonic Bar — evening bar with handcrafted signature drinks and light plates such as bruschetta and cold mezze
  • In-Room Dining — available around the clock

A private four-course dinner of Saudi dishes, prepared by the hotel’s chefs, can also be served in a suite.

The outdoor pool is open daily from 7 am until dusk.
