Airelles Le Guanahani

About this hotel

General information

Airelles Le Guanahani belongs to the French Airelles collection and sits on the north-eastern tip of Saint-Barthélemy. It covers a private seven-hectare peninsula between Grand Cul-de-Sac Lagoon and Maréchal Bay, inside a protected nature reserve and looking across to Île de la Tortue. Two beaches lie within the grounds, with white sand and turquoise water framed by palms and flowering bougainvillea.

Rooms and suites occupy individual cottages scattered through the gardens. The architecture draws on Creole tradition, with brightly painted wooden verandas and wide windows facing the sea or the greenery; interiors mix natural materials, wooden floors and vivid colour. The resort has one restaurant, La Table du Guanahani, three bars, an Airelles spa run with LBA, two pools and tennis, and its team arranges weddings, family celebrations and corporate events.

Location

The hotel lies at the far north-eastern end of Saint-Barthélemy, on a private peninsula between the calm Grand Cul-de-Sac Lagoon and the ocean-facing Maréchal Bay, opposite Île de la Tortue. The surrounding coast forms part of a protected nature reserve.

Spa

The Airelles Spa is set in the tropical gardens and works with Laboratoires Botanique Avancée (LBA), a skincare line used exclusively in Airelles spas. Its products combine plant stem cells with biotechnology-derived actives, and treatments follow regenerative protocols meant to ease tension, rebalance posture and restore radiance, with rituals tailored to each guest. A quiet adults-only pool sits beside the spa, and spa access is included in the stay.

Sports & leisure
  • An infinity pool above the lagoon with direct beach access, plus an adults-only spa pool
  • Fitness room and tennis
  • Snorkelling, paddleboarding and kayaking in Grand Cul-de-Sac Lagoon, where turtles are often seen
  • Walks through the nature reserve around the peninsula
  • Weddings, honeymoons, private celebrations, seminars and launches organised by the hotel team
For children

Hotel guests have complimentary use of the kids’ club. Families are best suited to the two- and three-bedroom suites: the Hibiscus Suite, with its own pool, sleeps five, while the Garden House and Bougainvillea Suite take up to seven.

Restaurants & bars

The kitchen pairs local produce and Caribbean flavours with French technique, served in one restaurant and three bars.

  • La Table du Guanahani — sea-view restaurant with a buffet at breakfast and lunch and an evening menu of Caribbean-accented dishes and international classics
  • Le Pélican — bar facing the beach
  • The Pool Bar — beside the infinity pool above the lagoon, also serving lunch almost on the sand
  • The Library — bar in the lobby
Swimming

The peninsula has two contrasting beaches. At its tip, within the grounds, Grand Cul-de-Sac Lagoon Beach has calm, clear water where turtles can be spotted. On the far side, Maréchal Beach is wilder and open to the ocean, with waves breaking on the rocks and coconut palms along the shore. The main infinity pool, ringed by palms, overlooks the lagoon and leads straight onto the beach; the second pool, at the spa, is screened by greenery and reserved for adults. Several rooms and suites also have private pools.
