General information
Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa is an independent beach hotel on Grand Cul-de-Sac bay in Saint-Barthélemy. It follows the curve of a crescent bay sheltered by a coral reef, which keeps the water as calm as a natural pool. The interiors are the work of Paris designer Sybille de Margerie: natural materials, plenty of daylight and a quiet palette drawn from the sea, so the rooms never compete with the view.
There are 44 rooms and suites plus two villas right by the beach. The hotel is known for its infinity pool above the sand, a spa built around La Mer skincare, the gastronomic Abyss restaurant, complimentary water-sports equipment and its own boats leaving straight from the property. Service follows what the hotel calls couture hospitality, with a dedicated guest experience maker for each guest to handle flights, outings and requests. A daily seaside buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.
Location
The hotel sits on the sandy shore of Grand Cul-de-Sac, where a barrier reef breaks the currents and sea turtles live in the lagoon. The hotel chauffeur meets guests at Saint-Barthélemy airport or port and drives them over in an electric van (charged separately). The team also arranges flights to the island: scheduled services run from Princess Juliana Airport on Saint Martin and from Guadeloupe, and private flights can be organised too.
Spa
Le Spa is set around an open-air atrium and partners with La Mer, offering its signature facials – lifting, hydrating, the anti-ageing Genaissance and a brightening radiance treatment. Facilities include red cedar Nordic baths with one warm tub at about 38 °C and two cold tubs at about 11 °C and 5 °C, a sauna, a hammam, a tea salon and a private studio for make-up, hair, manicures or coaching sessions. Harmonising treatments include Atma Janzu water therapy, a vibrational facial with tuning forks and a gong sound bath, and a longevity programme pairs a medical assessment with a personalised plan. The hammam, sauna, baths and tea salon are open to all hotel guests.

For children
Families are well looked after: there is a kids' programme, and young guests find their own welcome amenities in the room. Le Barth Océan Vue Mer rooms, Junior Suite Océan and Junior Suite Jardin can connect to neighbouring rooms, the junior suites take an extra bed, and the Signature suites sleep up to eight. The spa welcomes children from the age of eight for gentle treatments built around breathing, and parent-and-child treatments can be booked together.

The hotel has a seaside restaurant, a gastronomic restaurant and two bars, and breakfast can also be served in the room.

Swimming
The hotel opens straight onto Grand Cul-de-Sac beach, where the coral reef holds back the waves and the bay feels like a shallow natural pool of turquoise water. Guests have reserved loungers on the beach and around the infinity pool. Le Barth Océan Jacuzzi has its own hot tub and direct pool access, La Suite Océan Piscine Privée has a heated plunge pool, Le Duplex Océan Plage and La Suite Signature Plage open straight onto the sand, and each villa has a 17-metre pool.
Pets
Small and medium-sized dogs are welcome, and larger dogs on request. Only a limited number of rooms take dogs, so they should be reserved in advance, and a cleaning supplement applies. There are no restrictions for service dogs.
Rooms
The hotel has 44 rooms and suites, facing the sea or the tropical garden, and two villas by the beach, all accessible for guests with reduced mobility. Interiors in natural materials come with hidden drop-down screens that turn the terraces into shaded private spaces without blocking the view.
Every room has air conditioning, a walk-in rainfall shower, a walk-in wardrobe, a safe, a coffee and tea maker, a sound system, Diptyque bath products and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Le Barth Océan Jacuzzi
Sea-view room with a king-size bed, floor-to-ceiling windows and a rainfall shower; the large terrace has a private hot tub and direct access to the pool, a few steps from the beach. Sleeps two.
Le Barth Océan Vue Mer
Room close to the beach with a four-poster king-size bed and a balcony or terrace facing the sea; the bathroom has an oversized walk-in shower, double basins and a separate WC. Sleeps two; some connect to form a two-bedroom suite.
Junior Suite Océan
Spacious junior suite with vaulted ceilings, a sea-view bathroom and a balcony overlooking the beach. Sleeps up to four with an extra bed or sofa bed; some connect to form a two-bedroom suite.
La Suite Océan Piscine Privée
Suite with a king-size bed and a large patio with a heated plunge pool and Caribbean Sea views; the bathroom has an oversized walk-in shower, double basins and a separate WC. Sleeps up to four.
Le Duplex Océan Plage
Two-storey suite on the beach: downstairs a bright living room with a sofa bed, a bathroom and a terrace stepping onto the sand; upstairs the main bedroom with a balcony and a bathroom with a soaking tub and rainfall shower. Sleeps up to five.
La Suite Signature Plage
Beachfront suite with direct access to the sand, booked with one, two or three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and terrace, around a large living room opening onto a terrace or balcony over the bay. Sleeps two to eight.
La Suite Signature Océan
One-, two- or three-bedroom suite with a king-size bed and a balcony over Grand Cul-de-Sac bay, suited to larger families and groups of friends. Sleeps two to eight.
Le Barth Jardin
Quiet room with a king-size bed or twin beds on request, a walk-in rainfall shower and a terrace or balcony in the tropical garden. Sleeps two.
Junior Suite Jardin
Garden junior suite with a king-size bed, a balcony or terrace and a bathroom with a rainfall shower and double basins. Sleeps up to four with an extra bed or sofa bed; connects to a neighbouring room.
Villas Aqua & Bleu
Two villas right by the beach, each with six bedrooms (booked with four, five or six): upstairs two main bedrooms with dressing rooms, bathrooms and ocean-view balconies, downstairs four bedrooms, two with terraces opening onto the beach. Each has a 17-metre private pool, a fully equipped kitchen, a wine cellar, a concierge and a butler.
