General information
Sharq Village & Spa is a beach resort in the heart of Doha, set on the Ras Bu Abboud headland where the Corniche begins. It is laid out like a traditional Qatari settlement: low buildings in marble and pale stone, shaded courtyards framed by arches, lush gardens and walkways between the villas. There are 174 rooms and suites with balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, a private 400-metre sandy beach, three pools and a large spa, The Ritz-Carlton Spa.
The resort pairs the calm of a secluded garden with easy reach of old Doha: the National Museum of Qatar and Souq Waqif are a few steps away. Every evening at sunset bakhoor is lit in the main lobby while guests are offered Arabic coffee, dates and baklava. The grounds have their own beehives, which produce the resort's honey. It suits couples, families with children and short city stays alike.
Location
The resort sits on Ras Abu Abboud Street in Ras Bu Abboud, on the Persian Gulf near the start of the Corniche, beside the National Museum of Qatar and Souq Waqif, with the Museum of Islamic Art close by. The hotel puts Hamad International Airport about 3.7 km away; there is no shuttle, but private cars with drivers and limousines can be booked in advance. Parking and valet service are complimentary for guests, and there are electric-vehicle charging points.
Spa
Set among quiet villas, The Ritz-Carlton Spa has 24 treatment rooms, a separate ladies-only spa with its own wellness facilities, steam rooms, a plunge pool and separate men's and women's lounges. The menu covers signature hammam rituals, massages including treatments for couples, body scrubs and wraps, facials, scalp and hair care, manicures, pedicures, make-up and men's treatments. Signature journeys use ESPA products: a relaxing massage with Himalayan salt stones and rose quartz, a deep-tissue massage with hot stones and assisted stretching, and an anti-ageing facial with Kobido-inspired massage and jade rollers. Treatments are by appointment.
Sports & leisure
The fitness centre is open around the clock, with several studios, Technogym cardio and strength equipment and free weights; guests can join complimentary group classes in yoga, stretching and functional training, or book personal training and nutrition advice. The beach offers kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and beach volleyball. The concierge helps plan excursions, from city tours to desert safaris and dhow cruises with local partners.
For children
The Ritz Kids programme looks after younger guests with their own check-in desk, a welcome bag of colouring books and games, and a daily activity calendar of creative workshops, beach adventures, games and cultural discoveries. The Ritz Kids club has books, games, a PlayStation and movie nights, while outdoors there are play areas, splash fountains, a children's pool and a night safari tent. Families can request connecting rooms and extra beds, and cots are free.

Five restaurants and cafés range from Persian cooking with sea views to coffee and Arabic sweets in the lobby.

Swimming
The resort's private beach is 400 metres of soft sand on the Persian Gulf, looking towards the Doha skyline. Three heated outdoor pools with lifeguards sit among the gardens — the Infinity Pool, the Grand Pool and a children's pool — with Al Seef Poolside Bar & Cafe beside the water and towels provided.

The 174 rooms and suites are styled in a Qatari spirit, with handmade furniture, marble bathrooms and balconies facing the gardens, pools or the Gulf. The largest residence is the two-storey Royal Villa with its own indoor pool.
Every room has a marble bathroom with a separate whirlpool bath and rainforest shower, a bidet and Diptyque toiletries, robes and slippers, a furnished balcony, a work desk, a coffee and tea maker, a minibar, a safe, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service and twice-daily housekeeping.
