Rosewood Doha

About this hotel

General information

Rosewood Doha rises from the Lusail Marina promenade as a vertical take on the sea. Its coral-inspired mashrabiya façade, by the Qatari architect Ibrahim Jaidah, reworks the country’s building traditions in a contemporary idiom. Inside, the palette is oceanic, forms recall seashells and the lines of wooden dhows, and the air carries hints of coffee, dates and bakhoor.

The hotel is known for cooking that joins the Gulf to the wider world — from hand-pulled Chinese noodles to modern Levantine dishes — and for Asaya, a 3,600 m² wellness club with hammams, clay treatments and mindfulness practice. Work by Qatari artists and craftspeople appears throughout, and there is a double-height, pillarless ballroom alongside the Manor Club lounge.

Location

The hotel stands in the Lusail Marina district on the Gulf waterfront in Lusail, part of greater Doha. Hamad International Airport is about 30 minutes by car; the concierge arranges private sedan and limousine transfers, and Karwa taxis wait at the hotel. The concierge also plans visits to Katara Cultural Village, Souq Waqif, the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum of Qatar.

Spa

Asaya Spa sits within the Asaya wellness club, with treatment rooms, the Social House with its own private heat and water facilities, separate men’s and women’s bathhouses, a hair salon, a nail studio, a Pankhurst barber from London and a Duck & Dry blow-dry bar. The signature Lost Remedies ritual revisits old Qatari practices with Allum, a plant-based line made for Asaya; the menu also covers Moroccan hammams with marocMaroc, facials by Subtle Energies, Dr. Barbara Sturm and EviDenS de Beauté, Himalayan salt-stone massage by Ignae, Reiki, sound baths and Gharieni loungers for sound and vibration therapy.

Sports & leisure

Asaya has two gyms — one shared, one for women only — open around the clock to hotel guests, plus studios for aerial, barre, Pilates and functional training, an outdoor fitness lounge with a yoga deck and an Ascaro padel court. Personal training, non-invasive body diagnostics and recovery programmes covering sleep and nutrition are available. The hotel arranges dinners under the stars in the desert in the Qatari tradition, falconry encounters, farm-to-table outings and cultural tours of Doha.

For children

The Rosewood Explorers club runs daily activities for children aged 4–12 — crafts, cooking workshops, games and movement sessions — led by Dana the Dugong, a mascot drawn from the Gulf’s marine life. There is a dedicated family pool, every restaurant offers a children’s menu, cots are free, and Deluxe rooms and Deluxe Suites can be connected to neighbouring rooms.

Restaurants & bars

Nine restaurants, bars and sweet shops draw on Gulf, Chinese and Levantine cooking.

  • Koo Madame — refined Chinese cooking in the manner of old Shanghai: wood-roasted Beijing duck, handmade dim sum, hand-pulled noodles and the Gongfu Cha tea ceremony, with a private dining room
  • Mila — Levantine cuisine with flatbread from the wood-fired oven and traditional recipes given a modern turn
  • Asaya Kitchen — rooftop restaurant reserved for hotel guests, residents and Asaya members, with Qatari produce, sustainable seafood and biodynamic wines
  • Stoke & Stoker — cocktail lounge with rare spirits and drinks mixed tableside with souq-inspired spices
  • The Butterfly Room — afternoon tea with single-origin teas, Arabic sweets and house-made chocolate
  • Butterfly Patisserie — hand-painted bonbons, cakes and Arabic sweets made in-house
  • The Shisha Terrace — sheltered terrace above the Gulf for shisha, mezze and tea
  • Sikar — cigar lounge with rare cigars and fine spirits
  • Qdeli — deli and café for sourdough, coffee and gourmet takeaway
  • In-room dining — around the clock
Swimming

The Asaya club has five pools, indoor and outdoor; the outdoor ones include a lap pool, a family pool and a lounge pool. All hotel guests have access.

Pets

Pets are welcome in designated rooms and areas for a fee, and size or breed limits may apply; the hotel asks to be told in advance. Pets must be supervised at all times and are not allowed in the restaurants, spa or fitness areas.
