Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha

About this hotel

General information

Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha has a private island to itself, Marsa Malaz, within The Pearl, the man-made island off the Doha coastline. Conceived as an Arabian palace and wrapped in gardens, pools and a private sandy beach, it pairs Arabian tradition with European refinement indoors. There are 281 rooms and suites; even the entry-level rooms measure 75 m² and open onto balconies facing the Persian Gulf, the pools or the waterfront of The Pearl.

Days revolve around the table — from the Parisian café Fauchon and contemporary Japanese Nozomi to The Secret Garden lounge on the roof — and around Marsa Malaz Spa, the beach with its water sports, the tennis and padel courts and a kids' club. Guests are welcomed by the Lady in Red, the hotel's host in signature red who knows both the property and the city closely. Eight event venues, including some of the most expansive function spaces in Doha, and a business centre round out the offer.

Location

The hotel sits on Marsa Malaz island within The Pearl, a short stroll from the restaurants and entertainment of the Qanat Quartier, Porto Arabia and Medina Centrale districts. The West Bay business district is around a 10-minute drive away, with Katara Cultural Village, Doha Golf Club and the Place Vendôme mall in Lusail also close by. Hamad International Airport lies 29 km away, roughly 30 minutes by car; the concierge arranges transfers in BMW limousines, and a hotel representative meets guests in the arrivals hall. The airport is also linked by the Doha Metro Red Line, with a bus connection onto the island.

Spa

Marsa Malaz Spa has 21 treatment rooms for massages, facials, body therapies and signature rituals inspired by the four seasons, each adapted by the therapists to the guest's own preferences. Facials are built around Valmont, while Maroc Maroc products feature in selected signature treatments. Facilities include a sauna, a steam room and an indoor swimming pool, alongside couples' treatments, wellness packages and spa day experiences.

Sports & leisure

The Health Club on the lower ground floor has two separate fitness areas, one for men and one for women, equipped by Technogym, plus a personal training studio, two group class studios, a sauna and steam rooms; instructors offer one-to-one yoga, Pilates and balance sessions. A tennis court looks out over the water, with lessons from a male or female coach, and there are two padel courts. From the private beach and jetty, under lifeguard supervision, guests head out on boat rides, water-ski, wakeboard and kneeboard, ride the inflatable banana and donut, and paddle kayaks (including clear-bottomed ones), stand-up paddleboards and pedal boats. The concierge can plan cultural itineraries around Doha, desert trips and other outings.

For children

The Titan Tikes Playroom welcomes children aged 4–12 with arts and crafts, games, a kids' cinema room and a video game room, all supervised by trained staff. There is a separate children's pool, junior tennis classes on the court, and cots or extra beds for children can be added to rooms on request.

Restaurants & bars

The resort's restaurants and bars range from Lebanese to Japanese, and in-room dining is available.

  • Fauchon — Parisian café with French pastries, desserts, savoury dishes and signature teas and coffees
  • Harry's Dolce Vita — classic Italian cooking, from antipasti to desserts
