Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl-Qatar

About this hotel

General information

Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl-Qatar is a beach resort on the Persian Gulf, set on The Pearl, the man-made island off Doha raised over an old pearl-diving ground. Instead of conventional rooms it offers 161 apartments with one, two or three bedrooms, each with its own kitchen, laundry and generous terrace, which makes it as suited to a short seaside break as to a long stay in the city.

Interiors are timeless with a touch of glamour: a calm, neutral palette, contemporary furniture mixed with traditional pieces, and bathrooms finished in stone, bronze and oak. At the foot of the building lie a private beach, two outdoor pools and gardens threaded with a seaside boardwalk and a sensory garden; inside are a 25-metre indoor pool facing the Gulf, Loulou Spa – named after the Arabic word for pearl – and several restaurants, among them the Chicago Rare steakhouse.

Location

The resort sits on Porto Arabia Drive in a quiet seaside corner of The Pearl, a short walk from a Mediterranean-style square lined with restaurants, boutiques, galleries and cinemas. West Bay is about 20 minutes away by car, Katara Cultural Village 10 minutes and Souq Waqif 35 minutes, while the island’s many marinas make it easy to cross the city by water. Hamad International Airport is 30 km away, roughly a 26-minute drive; the concierge arranges BMW or Mercedes transfers, limousines and car hire.

Spa

Loulou Spa has four treatment rooms, including a couples’ suite, each named after a different variety of pearl. The menu covers facials and body treatments, massages, express treatments, Bellabaci cupping, men’s rituals and pearl-inspired wellness rituals. Afterwards guests can move on to the saunas, steam rooms and whirlpool, rest in the relaxation lounge or swim in the heated 25-metre, two-lane indoor pool overlooking the Persian Gulf.

Sports & leisure

The 24-hour fitness centre has panoramic sea views, cardio and strength equipment and a studio for spinning and stretching classes; personal trainers and private yoga can be booked, and morning yoga classes are held on the lawn by the beach. The concierge arranges a private eight-hour tour of Doha, 4x4 dune bashing around Sealine by the Inland Sea with camel rides, buggies, quad bikes, sandboarding and falcon handling, and outings to Katara Cultural Village with its galleries and planetarium. Open-air movie nights take place on La Plage, the seaside lawn.

For children

The complimentary Kids For All Seasons club welcomes children aged 4–12 every day in a colourful space with a traditional Qatari fishing boat suspended overhead. It has an activity zone, computer and video game zones, a bookshelf, a wind-down corner, a snack pantry and an outdoor play area, and its mascot – a baby Arabian falcon – joins in the fun. Families also have an outdoor pool with a sloped entry, family cabanas on the beach and babysitting.

Restaurants & bars

The resort’s restaurants look onto the beach, the pools or the Gulf, and range from a steakhouse to a French pâtisserie.

  • Chicago Rare — Chicago-style steakhouse with grilled cuts, signature burgers, a cocktail bar and a terrace facing the Gulf
  • Spuntino — Southern Italian cooking from Naples to Sicily, with sharing plates; open from breakfast to dinner, indoors and out above the beach and pools
  • Nota Blu Doha — Mediterranean restaurant with roots in Marbella: lobster linguine, seafood orzo, Kaviari caviar and live music
  • Duchess — tea lounge with sofas and sea views for morning coffee, afternoon tea, evening mocktails and sweets
  • Loulou Plage — light, healthy dishes and creative cocktails on the beach and by the outdoor pools, served right to the loungers
  • Nicolas Rouzaud Maison de Haute Pâtisserie — French pâtisserie known for fruit-led pastries
  • In-Room Dining — available around the clock; a chef can also cook an Italian, Peruvian or Moroccan tasting menu in the apartment’s own kitchen
Swimming

The resort’s private beach on the Persian Gulf is set with loungers and with cabanas for couples and families, where servers bring drinks and bites, and a boardwalk runs along the shore. Next to it are two outdoor pools – a family pool with a sloped entry and a 20-metre lap pool for adults only – and the spa adds a heated 25-metre indoor pool.

Rooms

The resort has 161 apartments with one, two or three bedrooms, plus residences in a separate wing, all with a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and a balcony facing the city, the marina or the Persian Gulf.
