General information
Hotel Quinta do Lago lies within the estate of the same name, on the edge of the Ria Formosa Natural Park — a landscape of pine groves, lakes and lagoon with the Atlantic beyond. From the hotel garden a wooden footbridge crosses the lagoon to a broad sandy beach.
Interiors follow a classic Portuguese style, and every room and suite has a balcony or terrace looking over the gardens, the sea or the lagoon. There is a spa with an indoor pool, two outdoor pools and tennis courts, with the estate’s championship golf courses all around. For meetings and weddings the hotel has three rooms for up to 250 guests, a panoramic terrace and its restaurants.
Location
The hotel is in the Quinta do Lago estate near Almancil (Loulé municipality) on the southern Algarve coast, next to the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Faro airport is about 20 km, or a 20-minute drive, away; the hotel arranges private transfers from Faro and Lisbon airports.
Spa
The spa has six treatment rooms, including a Thermo Spa room and a dedicated hydromassage room. Facilities include a heated indoor pool with massage jets and counter-current, an outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the Ria Formosa and the ocean, a Turkish bath, sauna and gym. Facials, body wraps and massages — from classic and sports to Ayurvedic, Balinese and pregnancy — use Anne Semonin products.

- Golf: the Quinta do Lago estate’s championship courses — North, South and Laranjal — and about a dozen more nearby; the hotel’s golf desk books tee times and arranges a shuttle and club hire, and PGA professionals give lessons
For children
A kids’ club runs in summer, at Easter and during school holidays, with pastry classes and traditional garden games. Children have their own outdoor pool, a children’s menu at Brisa do Mar and bikes in their size.
Restaurants & bars
The hotel has two restaurants and two bars, with room service around the clock.
- Brisa do Mar — Portuguese and international dishes from breakfast to dinner, with a terrace over the Ria Formosa and the sea and a children’s menu
- Ca' d'Oro — fine Portuguese cuisine at dinner in a Venetian-inspired room, by the fireplace in winter (seasonal)
- Laguna Bar — cocktail bar looking over the lagoon, a favourite at sunset
- The Pool Bar — fresh juices, salads and light snacks by the pool (summer)
Swimming
Guests reach the sandy Quinta do Lago beach through the hotel gardens and over a wooden bridge across the Ria Formosa lagoon. In summer a reserved area for hotel guests has sun loungers, parasols and towels.
Rooms
The hotel has 141 rooms and suites in six categories, from spacious rooms to the Suite Royal with its own rooftop pool. All have a balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens, the sea or the Ria Formosa lagoon.
Wi-Fi, TV, safe, minibar, tea and coffee, iron, marble bathroom with double vanity, separate WC and heated towel rails, bathrobes and slippers.
Room
A room with a king or two twin beds, a marble bathroom and a private balcony or terrace with garden or sea views. Sleeps two adults and a child under 12.

A larger room with a sitting area, a king or two twin beds and a furnished balcony with garden or sea views. Sleeps two adults and a child under 12.
Garden Suite
A one- or two-bedroom suite with a living room, a guest shower room and a terrace over the gardens with partial views of the sea and the Ria Formosa. Up to four adults in the two-bedroom version.
Deluxe Suite
A suite with a bedroom, a living room with dining area, a guest bathroom and a balcony overlooking the Ria Formosa lagoon and the gardens. Sleeps two adults and a child under 12.
Gran Suite
A large one- or two-bedroom suite with a living and dining area and two terraces with sun loungers above the lagoon and gardens. Sleeps up to four adults and two children under 12.
Suite Royal
A top-floor suite with two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchenette and a wraparound terrace with a private heated pool, outdoor dining for six and views over the Ria Formosa and the sea; the main bathroom has a whirlpool bath for two. Sleeps up to four adults and two children under 12.
