About this hotel
General information
Hotel Quadrille is an intimate adults-only hotel in Orłowo, a leafy district of Gdynia, set in an 18th-century palace-and-park estate a short way from the Baltic Sea. A member of Relais & Châteaux, it welcomes guests aged 16 and over, and its calm and discretion are very much the point. The estate is made up of the palace and an outbuilding, linked by an underground passage, and surrounded by a historic park with a pond and a fountain.
The whole concept takes its cue from Alice in Wonderland: the name recalls the quadrille danced in the story, the restaurant is named after the White Rabbit, and the entrance hall is laid with a black-and-white chequerboard floor that recalls the game of chess played by the story's characters. Classical palace interiors meet contemporary design, hand-glazed Portuguese azulejo tiles and bold wallpapers. The palace holds twelve individually designed rooms, each devoted to a different literary world, while the outbuilding houses business-class rooms. There is a restaurant, a pub in the palace cellars, a spa with a pool, and rooms for conferences and weddings.
Location
The hotel stands on Folwarczna Street in Orłowo, a green corner of Gdynia away from the bustle of the city, close to the sea and within easy reach of central Gdynia and Sopot, two of the three cities of the Tricity. Parking is free for hotel guests and needs no reservation.
Spa
Quadrille Spa is a quiet zone reserved for guests aged 16 and over. At its heart is the A°quadrille water area, with a pool, a hot tub, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, a cooling zone with showers and ice, and a poolside relaxation area featuring a 'sun meadow' lamp. The spa offers massages, including in a treatment room for two, and facials using the Japanese brand Forlle'd and Spain's Mesoestetic; rituals include a full-body scrub followed by a relaxing massage with warm oils and shea butter. Hotel guests can head down in the bathrobes and slippers provided in their rooms.
Sports & leisure
Next to the water area is a compact cardio room with a treadmill, an elliptical trainer, an exercise bike, a rowing machine, wall bars, weights, kettlebells and a punching bag; personal trainers are available on request. The park and the seafront invite long walks, and cycling, horse riding, sailing, yacht trips and golf lessons can all be enjoyed nearby. The museums and landmarks of Pomerania are a short drive away.
Restaurants & bars
The main restaurant, Biały Królik (White Rabbit), sits in the palace and serves original takes on Polish and European cuisine built on seasonal, mostly Polish produce with a distinct Pomeranian accent. Guests choose from the à la carte menu or a tasting menu in a full or shorter version, with a pairing of spirits; breakfast is also served here, and the restaurant hosts private celebrations for up to 30 guests. Tucked into the atmospheric palace cellars, Pub 10/6 takes its name from the Mad Hatter and pours signature cocktails that pair classic recipes with unexpected ingredients, alongside a light bar menu. Like the hotel itself, both venues welcome guests aged 16 and over.
Swimming
The indoor pool in the A°quadrille water area takes up to 14 people at a time, with a hot tub and a relaxation area alongside.
