Hotel Warszawa

About this hotel

General information

Hotel Warszawa occupies a 1930s high-rise in the very centre of Warsaw, one of the finest landmarks of Polish modernist architecture. The 66-metre tower, built on a steel and reinforced-concrete frame, was conceived to dominate the skyline: when completed it was the tallest building in Poland, and its silhouette can still be seen from up to 20 km away.

Inside is a five-star hotel of 142 rooms and suites, each designed individually. Stone, steel, copper, glass and solid American walnut set the tone, bathrooms are finished in marble, and in some rooms the original concrete ceilings or sections of the old façade have been left exposed, so the building’s character is present almost everywhere. There are two restaurants, a round-the-clock bar with a cigar room, a spa with a pool and a salt cave, and three meeting rooms.

Location

The hotel stands in Śródmieście, in the heart of Warsaw, with one façade on Świętokrzyska Street; Świętokrzyska metro station, buses and trams are a few minutes’ walk away. The Old Town, the Zachęta gallery and the National Museum in Warsaw are all within walking distance. For a fee the hotel arranges transfers from any address in and around Warsaw, including Warsaw Chopin Airport, Warsaw-Modlin Airport and the railway station, in Mercedes S-Class or V-Class cars seating up to seven. There is a small underground car park: guests simply leave the car at the entrance and hand the keys to the doorman.

Spa

The Wellness & Spa on level −1 is free for hotel guests, with a counter-current pool, a Finnish sauna and a steam room, a salt cave and two treatment rooms, one single and one for couples. Massages – relaxing, deep tissue, cupping, and short sessions for the back, face, neck, hands or feet – use the aromatic oils of the Italian house Ortigia, with a choice of four Sicilian scents: Fico d’India, Florio, Zagara or Ambra Nera. Facials, including Japanese kobido massage, use Menard products, and a chocolate body ritual combines a sugar scrub with a wrap. A drawn bath can also be ordered in the room’s own marble bathroom, with jasmine-scented goat’s milk powder, rose salts and petals.

Sports & leisure

The spa has a cardio area with treadmills, exercise bikes and a cross-trainer, further fitness equipment and the counter-current pool. The concierge helps plan days in the city, and a car with driver is available for a fee. The hotel also has a hairdresser and a florist.

Restaurants & bars

Two restaurants and a 24-hour bar; both restaurants have a children’s menu, and room service runs around the clock.

  • Warszawska – modern Polish cuisine on levels −1 and −2 beneath the lobby, with interiors recalling the Warsaw of the 1920s and 1930s, a large glass-walled kitchen and an open space framed by historic foundations. Bread and pastries come from the in-house bakery each morning, while ham and sausages are made in the hotel’s own smokehouse; it serves breakfast (buffet plus hot dishes from the menu), a three-course weekday lunch and the seven-course “Polska Gościnność” tasting set
  • Szóstka – a sixth-floor restaurant with an open kitchen specialising in fish and seafood, dry-aged in a dedicated cabinet; the menu follows the seasons, and evenings bring tasting dinners with optional wine pairing. In season a large terrace along Świętokrzyska Street looks out over the Warsaw skyline
  • Bar Warszawska – a 24-hour bar on level −1 for coffee, wine, signature cocktails and a selection of whisky, rum and gin, with a bar menu at any hour and an intimate cigar room at the far end; a DJ plays on Friday evenings
Swimming

The counter-current pool lies in the spa on level −1, alongside a Finnish sauna, a steam room and a salt cave; entry is free for hotel guests.

Pets

Dogs and other small pets are welcome for a fee; with advance notice the room is prepared with a bed, a blanket and bowls. The restaurants and the bar have designated areas for guests with dogs.

Rooms

All 142 rooms and suites are designed individually, so no two are quite alike: solid American walnut, natural stone, glass and copper, custom-woven bedspreads and bed linen stamped with the hotel’s logo. Rooms lie in the newer part of the building overlooking a glazed courtyard, along Świętokrzyska Street, and in the historic tower, whose upper floors look out over the city.

In each room

Air conditioning with smart lighting and temperature control, two LED TVs with satellite channels, Chromecast, a large desk, minibar, safe, free Wi-Fi and wired internet, natural-fibre bed linen, a marble bathroom with bath and shower, Acqua di Parma toiletries, towels and slippers, hairdryer, shoe-care kit and daily housekeeping.
