About this hotel
General information
Pangulasian lies in the middle of Bacuit Bay off El Nido in northern Palawan, and goes by the name of the island of the sun. A 750-metre ribbon of white sand runs along its shore, tropical forest rises behind it, and the bay’s emerald water and limestone cliffs surround it. El Nido Resorts has placed 42 villas here in a contemporary Filipino style: some sit directly on the beach, others are tucked into a cove at the island’s western edge or raised into the treetops.
The waters around the island are a protected marine sanctuary, so days revolve around the sea – diving, snorkelling, kayaking and boat trips to the bay’s secluded coves and lagoons. Service is personal and unobtrusive: concierge assistance, in-villa dining, fruit and refreshments on arrival and the airport transfer are part of every stay.
Location
The resort occupies its own island at the heart of Bacuit Bay in El Nido, Palawan. Scheduled flights from Clark, Cebu and Bohol land at El Nido’s Lio airport, and charter flights can also be arranged. From the airport guests continue by road and then by boat; the return transfer is included in every stay.
Spa
The Spa & Gym pairs a spa with a fitness room: pools and treatment rooms are set among gardens, while the gym offers modern equipment and guided sessions. Treatments include the Pangulasian Signature Massage, finished with a hydrating coconut bath; traditional Filipino hilot followed by a dagdagay foot massage; the fragrant Sampaguita Soothing Massage, also offered with warm Himalayan salt stones; and the Asian Stretch Massage, a dry massage blending sports and deep-tissue techniques, given in yoga clothes and rounded off with a scalp massage.
Sports & leisure
Guided activities and island-hopping trips are part of a stay, as is the use of kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling gear. The resort arranges dives and dive courses to some of Palawan’s clearest and most secluded underwater landscapes. Other options include:
- water toys – Seabob, e-foil, a Schiller water bike and a pedalboard;
- a 90-minute sunset cruise with wine and a cheese platter;
- a few hours in a secluded cove beneath limestone cliffs, with a picnic basket;
- a trip to Ille Cave in the Dewil Valley, where prehistoric fossils and ancient artefacts have been found – by boat and van, with a picnic;
- private boat and van charters, tailored excursions and GoPro rental.
For children
Babysitting can be arranged on request.
Restaurants & bars
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the resort restaurant, a bar sits beside the infinity pool, and Tuka Bar is a floating bar where cocktails come with Filipino pica-pica bites. Meals can also be taken in the villa, with in-villa dining included in every stay.
Swimming
The island’s main beach is 750 metres of white sand, fronted by the Beach Villas, with the infinity pool and its bar close by. Each Pool Villa has its own plunge pool and sun deck, and the four Kalaw villas share a private lap pool. The waters around the island form a protected marine sanctuary, easily explored with a mask and snorkel.

There are 42 villas in four types, set along the shore, in a hidden cove and up in the forest canopy. Each measures 86–89 m², has its own balcony or veranda and sleeps up to three guests.
Air conditioning, Wi-Fi, an espresso machine with pods, a minibar, a safe, a smart TV, a speaker, a sofa, dining table and work desk, blackout curtains, bathrobes and slippers, a pillow-mist menu, a buri-palm hat, a rain jacket and umbrella, and fruit and refreshments on arrival.
