General information
Jumeirah Muscat Bay fills the secluded cove of Bandar Jissah, where the rocky spurs of the Hajar Mountains drop straight into the Gulf of Oman. Its architecture and interiors lean towards a contemporary Arabian style – calm earthy tones, wide windows onto the water and decorative pieces made for the hotel by local artisans. Sea turtles are often seen in the waters around the resort, and the bay itself suits swimming, snorkelling and diving.
The resort pairs beach time with an active outdoor programme, from mountain hikes to water sports, sunrise yoga and a spa on the upper floor. Its most private corner is a group of summerhouses and the Sanctuary Villa, each with its own pool, a personal butler and a separate beach. For celebrations and meetings there is the 788 m² Pearl Grand Ballroom with a beachfront terrace for up to 1,000 guests, two meeting rooms and open-air spaces on the beach and in the gardens, where weddings are held.
Location
The resort sits in the Bandar Jissah cove in Qantab, between the Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman, about 15 minutes by car from central Muscat and about 40 minutes from Muscat International Airport. The Royal Opera House Muscat, Muttrah Souq and the Grand Mosque are all within easy reach. The hotel arranges airport transfers in both directions with at least 48 hours’ notice.
Spa
Talise Spa occupies the sixth floor, looking out over the Gulf of Oman. It has ten treatment rooms, two of them for couples, along with a hammam, a sauna and a steam room. The menu covers signature massage and body rituals, high-performance facials, prenatal massage, sleep and performance programmes, family treatments and a Talise Spa Juniors menu, using local, sustainably made products chosen to reflect Oman’s landscapes. The signature Essence of Oman ritual is built around frankincense oil and sea salt, and hand and foot care is handled by the Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio.
Sports & leisure
Talise Fitness is open around the clock with Technogym equipment and group classes, and a separate studio hosts yoga and meditation, including sunrise sessions. There is a tennis court with coaching, a certified dive centre with its own jetty and accredited courses, kayaking (including clear kayaks for watching marine life in the bay), stand-up paddleboarding, wakeboarding and e-foiling. An underwater coral nursery has been set up in the bay: guests can adopt a coral fragment and visit it on snorkelling or diving trips. The hotel also arranges tailor-made hikes in the Hajar Mountains and cultural outings around Muscat. Guests in club rooms and above have access to the Premium Lounge.
For children
The Kids Club runs daily for children aged 4–14; those aged 2–4 attend with a parent or babysitter. Activities include storytelling, puppets, arts and crafts, dance and movement classes, table football, Lego, puzzles and video games, along with sessions by the pool and on the beach and lessons on protecting coral reefs. There is a dedicated kids’ pool and a family pool, babysitting can be arranged on request, and the spa offers Talise Spa Juniors treatments.

Five venues, each placed to take in views of the bay.

- Brezza Restaurant & Rooftop Bar – Mediterranean dishes with an Italian accent and a cocktail bar on the sixth-floor rooftop
- Zuka Restaurant & Pool Bar – beachside restaurant and pool bar serving Mediterranean and Greek dishes, seafood, fresh juices and cocktails
- Anzo – adults-only bar and terrace on the fifth floor with Asian small plates and signature cocktails
- Tarini Lounge – lobby lounge for teas, coffee, pastries, local sweets and afternoon tea; no alcohol served
Swimming
There are three outdoor pools: one for adults only, a family pool and a kids’ pool. The resort’s sandy beach in the calm bay lies beside Zuka, while summerhouse and Sanctuary Villa guests have a separate private beach, the Sanctuary beach.
Rooms
The hotel has 171 rooms, 24 suites and 11 villas in a contemporary Arabian style, laid out to make the most of the sea views. The two-bedroom family categories connect to a neighbouring room, and guests in club rooms and above use the Premium Lounge.
Each room has free Wi-Fi, an interactive HD TV with Bluetooth, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer and bathroom toiletries.
