About this hotel
General information
Coronet Ridge Resort is a five-star alpine retreat in Arthurs Point, set on the slope above the turquoise Shotover River and a few minutes from the Coronet Peak ski area. Busy downtown Queenstown is close, yet the mood here is quiet and mountain-bound, and the restaurant looks out over the river, the Wakatipu Basin and The Remarkables.
Most rooms and suites face the Shotover, and several have a bath out on the balcony above the river. At its heart is a Roman-style spa with an indoor heated pool, steam room and sauna, alongside a gym, a squash court, a private cinema and a hushed library lounge. Elevation, the restaurant, cooks with produce from Queenstown and Central Otago, and the resort follows the Māori principle of kaitiakitanga — guardianship of land and water.
Location
146 Arthurs Point Road, Arthurs Point, above the Shotover River and minutes from Coronet Peak. Queenstown Airport is about 15 minutes’ drive, and the resort can arrange transfers. A bus stop five minutes’ walk away has regular services to Queenstown town centre and Arrowtown, and there is on-site parking.
Spa
The Spa at Coronet Ridge is styled on Roman baths: an indoor heated pool, hot tubs, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms, including a couples’ suite with its own bath. Treatments use Corbin Road, a New Zealand skincare line built on local botanicals, and cover massage, facials, body work and LED light therapy, with signatures such as The Alpine Ritual, The Alpine Renewal, The Sole foot ritual, the Bathe mineral soak and The Reconnection for two.
Sports & leisure
On site are a fully equipped gym, a squash court, a private cinema, a library lounge and open-air hot tubs, plus a conference room for 24–30 delegates with breakout rooms. Queenstown’s classics lie close by:
- Coronet Peak — skiing and snowboarding in winter, gondola rides and mountain biking in summer
- Shotover Jet boat rides through the river’s canyons
- the Skyline Gondola, with views of The Remarkables and Lake Whakatipu
- scenic flights to Milford Sound, Aoraki / Mount Cook and Stewart Island
- cruises on the historic TSS Earnslaw across Lake Whakatipu to Walter Peak
- chauffeured wine and sightseeing tours

Elevation Bar & Restaurant sits high above the Shotover River, looking across the Wakatipu Basin to The Remarkables. It serves breakfast, bar plates through the afternoon and dinner built on local produce — New Zealand beef, Mt Cook salmon, Royalburn lamb and regional cheeses — with cocktails from the bar, and it can be booked for exclusive use. The Library Lounge is the quiet corner for an evening with a book.
Swimming
The spa’s indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room and hot tubs are open to hotel guests daily, from early morning until late evening.

The Coronet Peak ski area is a few minutes from the resort, with skiing and snowboarding through the winter; afterwards the heated pool, sauna and hot tubs are on hand.
