About this hotel
General information
Hotel TwentySeven is an all-suite hotel on Dam Square, at the very centre of Amsterdam. It occupies the upper floors of a monumental building from the era of the industrial revolution, and many of its windows look straight across to the Royal Palace and the National Monument. With just sixteen suites, it feels closer to a private residence than to a city hotel.
The interiors are worked out to the last detail: hand-knotted silk carpets, oak floors laid in a Versailles pattern, silken French wallpapers, natural stone bathrooms and contemporary art from an Amsterdam gallery. Service is the real signature — private butlers, personal assistants, personal shoppers, trainers and guides are available on request, and in-suite dining runs around the clock. Under the same roof are the gastronomic Restaurant Bougainville, the intimate BO by Bougainville and Bar TwentySeven. The hotel is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Location
The hotel stands at Dam 27, on Amsterdam’s main square, facing the Royal Palace and the National Monument, with the Nieuwe Kerk, the shops of the Rokin and the old-town canals all close by. Amsterdam Centraal is about a 15-minute walk away, Rokin metro station is 50 m from the door and several tram lines stop on the square itself. Schiphol Airport is around 16 km away. For guests arriving by car, the hotel offers valet parking, to be booked at least 24 hours ahead.
Spa
Massages can be arranged on request, and every suite has its own steam shower and a two-person jacuzzi with adjustable mood lighting.
Sports & leisure
The team arranges sessions with a personal trainer, city walks with a private guide and shopping with a personal shopper. For exploring Amsterdam, the hotel keeps its own list of places worth seeing, from museums and cafés to the city’s fashionable shopping streets.
For children
Families are welcome: a nanny service can be arranged on request, and several suites — among them the Grand Master Suite, the Rooftop Loft Suite and the two-bedroom suites — sleep four.
Restaurants & bars
All three venues share the building and look out over Dam Square.
- Bougainville — gastronomic à la carte restaurant with panoramic views of the square; it also serves breakfast to hotel guests, and the Chef’s Room offers private dinners overlooking the kitchen.
- BO by Bougainville — a 25-seat sister restaurant with a short menu of four starters, four intermediate courses, four mains and four desserts, paired with wines chosen by Bougainville’s sommelier.
- Bar TwentySeven — cocktail bar on the third floor, pouring signature cocktails, rare spirits, whiskies and champagnes.
Pets
Pets are welcome at the hotel.
