Royal Mansour Marrakech

About this hotel

General information

Royal Mansour Marrakech is conceived as a medina within the medina: in place of rooms and corridors there are 53 private riads linked by narrow, winding lanes. The estate covers around five hectares behind the old city walls, looking towards the peaks of the Atlas, and more than half of it is given over to gardens with fountains, pavilions and a kitchen garden.

Each riad rises over three floors around its own patio, with individual decoration and a roof terrace holding a plunge pool. Interiors bring together Moroccan craft — carved wood, mashrabiya screens, wrought iron, onyx and marble — with technology kept discreetly out of sight. Service is deliberately discreet: butlers, housekeepers and florists work so that guests barely notice them.

Location

The hotel sits in the western part of Marrakech's medina at the foot of the ramparts, about a five-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa, with the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs and Ben Youssef Madrasa within easy reach on foot or with a guide. Transfers from Marrakech Menara Airport are arranged by the hotel, and the concierge books cars with drivers for trips around the city. The High Atlas is roughly an hour's drive away.

Spa

The 2,500 m² spa spreads over three floors, entered through a Moorish-style atrium wrapped in wrought-iron lattice. It has 10 treatment rooms and 3 spa suites, a hammam, a hair and beauty salon and a heated 22-metre indoor pool beneath an orangery-style glass canopy. The hammam is the spa's defining ritual: signature body wraps with Atlas ghassoul clay, lavender, orange-blossom honey, argan, saffron and rose water sit alongside traditional rituals using the Moroccan marocMaroc range. Face and body treatments draw on Sisley, Intraceuticals, Leonor Greyl, Dr Burgener and Subtle Energies, while visiting practitioners offer Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine, osteopathy, Chi Nei Tsang and singing-bowl sessions. Tailored programmes focus on detox, renewed energy, weight management or a complete switch-off.

Sports & leisure

The gym is open around the clock, with treadmills, elliptical trainers, bikes and free weights; guests train alone or with a coach, and sport and nutrition specialists build personal programmes. Yoga and Pilates take place in the spa studio or the gardens, and aqua-fitness is held in the indoor pool. The hotel runs signature workshops in Moroccan and Italian cooking, patisserie, mixology and painting. Through the concierge, guests can arrange a sunrise hot-air balloon flight with breakfast, private guided walks through the medina, a horse-drawn carriage ride across the city and trips into the desert.

For children

Le Jardin de Lila, the kids' club beside the gardens and pool, welcomes children aged 4–10 every day. Its programme covers creative workshops, beginners' Arabic, sports, treasure hunts in the medina and games of skill, building and strategy, all designed to introduce young guests to Moroccan culture.

Restaurants & bars

Four restaurants, a handful of bars and private tables with bespoke menus make up the dining.

  • La Grande Brasserie — French brasserie with a sharing menu; afternoon tea with sweet and savoury bites is also served here
  • La Grande Table Marocaine — modern Moroccan cooking that reworks traditional recipes
  • Sesamo — Italian dinners in rooms inspired by Venetian palazzi: antipasti, pasta and Neapolitan pizza
  • Le Jardin — open-air restaurant under garden pergolas serving Asian and Mediterranean dishes, sushi, grills and tapas, with a bar and music in the evening
  • The Main Bar — Art Deco bar beneath a hand-carved silver ceiling
  • Fireplace Lounge — intimate lounge with live piano and a glass fireplace set in the garden
  • Cigar Bar — cigar lounge on the first floor of the main building
  • The Private Tables — private dinners with Moroccan, French, Mediterranean or Asian menus
Swimming

The garden, a little over 2.5 hectares, holds a 30 × 20 m outdoor pool framed by sun loungers, shaded terraces and seven private pavilions of 45–80 m², with cocktails served at the water's edge. The spa adds a heated 22-metre indoor pool, and every riad has its own plunge pool on the roof.
