Park Hyatt Marrakech

About this hotel

General information

Park Hyatt Marrakech sits within the gated Al Maaden golf estate at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, its terraces looking out over green fairways towards the range. The ochre walls and shaded courtyards take their cue from the country around the city: Berber villages and green valleys, the rocky Agafay desert and the rammed-earth ramparts of the old medina.

Inside, a restrained contemporary aesthetic is layered with fine materials, African art and pieces of Moroccan craftsmanship. There are 130 keys, 69 of them suites, including two-level villas with their own pools. The resort has three restaurants and bars, a large spa with a hammam and an indoor pool, a kids' club, three outdoor pools and the Meeting Residence, a self-contained 1,000 m² events space with seven rooms and a terrace.

Location

The hotel lies in the Al Maaden golf estate on the edge of Marrakech, beside the Al Maaden golf course; MACAAL, the Museum of African Contemporary Art, is within the estate. Marrakech Menara Airport is 12 km away and Casablanca airport 233 km. The concierge arranges transfers and other transport, and parking, including valet, is free for guests.

Spa

Le Spa Park Hyatt Marrakech is a daylit, minimalist space built around Morocco's hammam tradition and holistic therapies. It has ten treatment rooms, including two couples' spa suites, plus a hammam, sauna, whirlpool and a 20-metre indoor pool. Treatments use Nectarome, a Moroccan specialist in natural beauty, and the Australian vegan line Sodashi, made with organically farmed ingredients; a hair and beauty salon offers manicures, pedicures, waxing and grooming.

Sports & leisure
  • a 200 m² fitness centre on the spa's upper floor, open around the clock, with Technogym equipment and two private studios for boxing, yoga, meditation and Pilates
  • yoga sessions, group and personal training, and a jogging trail around the grounds
  • Al Maaden golf course next door: an 18-hole championship course over 72 hectares, par 72, 6,569 m long
  • Moroccan cooking classes
  • concierge-arranged outings: the Ourika Valley and its saffron fields, the Agafay desert, horse riding in the Palmeraie, hot-air balloon flights, paragliding over the Kik Plateau and sidecar tours
  • visits to the Majorelle Garden, Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Saadian Tombs and Jemaa el-Fnaa square
For children

Kidz Club welcomes children aged 4 to 12 with a daily programme of indoor and outdoor activities: painting and drawing, pottery, water games, gardening and themed play. The Oasis Pool is set aside for families with children.

Restaurants & bars

Dining leans on Moroccan and Mediterranean cooking, with most tables set out on terraces facing the Atlas.

  • TFAYA – brasserie arabesque — traditional dishes from across Morocco and the Arab world, reworked with a contemporary touch; breakfast and dinner in a festive setting
  • Pavillon Terrace & Pool — Mediterranean cooking with Nikkei accents, served on the pergola-shaded terrace or at the loungers by the pools
  • Living Room — a lounge opposite reception with a library and fireplace; afternoon tea with sweet and savoury bites, tapas and cocktails in the evening
  • pool bar — drinks and a dedicated poolside menu brought to the sun loungers
  • 24-hour in-room dining
Swimming

Three outdoor pools with loungers look towards the Atlas Mountains: the Main Pool is for adults only, while the Oasis Pool is open to guests of all ages. A heated 20-metre indoor pool is in the spa. Pavillon Terrace & Pool and the pool bar serve the poolside.

Pets

Pets up to 8 kg are welcome; each is given its own bed and a welcome kit.
