About this hotel
General information
Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech spreads across 20 hectares of olive groves and landscaped gardens, with the Atlas Mountains on the horizon. The resort is made up entirely of villas and suites, each with its own secluded pool. The villas are a contemporary reading of the traditional riad: high walls, an entrance through a courtyard and a sequence of intimate spaces designed for whole days spent in privacy.
Interiors weave Berber and Arab-Andalusian motifs together with echoes of the brand's Asian roots. Carved tadelakt walls, hand-cut zellige tiling, marble inlays, woven Berber rugs and sculpted wood are the work of local artisans. Every villa and suite has a round-the-clock butler, and gardens of jasmine, bougainvillea and date palms, along with an organic kitchen garden, give the place the feel of a quiet country estate on the city's edge.
Location
The resort lies outside Marrakech's old town, among olive groves looking towards the Atlas Mountains. The medina is about ten minutes away, and Marrakech Menara Airport roughly a 15-minute drive.
Spa
The 1,800 m² spa blends Moroccan wellness traditions with Mandarin Oriental's Asian approach. It has treatment rooms, Moroccan hammams in Arab-Andalusian style, a heated indoor pool overlooking the gardens, a relaxation area and a beauty salon for hair, make-up and nails. Hammam rituals use black soap, kessa-glove exfoliation, argan oil and rose water; the menu also covers massages, facials and multi-day wellness retreats. The Two Bedroom Spa Villa has its own door straight into the spa.
Sports & leisure
The fitness centre is open around the clock, with Technogym equipment, a Kinesis cable system, personal training in boxing, functional fitness and golf, and group classes on a monthly schedule. Alongside are a synthetic-grass tennis court and a padel court with a professional surface, plus a pavilion where equipment can be hired. Yoga has its own garden and studio.
- Moroccan cooking classes with the chefs in the resort's organic kitchen garden
- a honey masterclass with a hive visit and a honey-inspired lunch
- bikes for all ages for rides along trails through palms and olive trees
- sunrise hot-air balloon flights over the Marrakech countryside
For children
The Kids' Kasbah runs a daily programme rooted in Moroccan culture: children knead dough and bake bread in a traditional oven, make mosaics, plant in the garden, work clay with local potters, do yoga under the olive trees and decorate biscuits with the pastry chef. Nearby are a farm with goats to feed and an educational apiary. On request, a pottery set-up, a play tipi and board games can be brought to the villa, and the spa offers playful mini-manicures for children.
Restaurants & bars
Restaurants and bars are set in the gardens and around the main pool, and much of the kitchens' produce comes from the resort's own organic garden.
- Amensi — contemporary Moroccan cooking from the country's regions with an Amazigh spirit, dishes for sharing and cocktails themed on Morocco's provinces, dinner on a terrace above the gardens
- Ling Ling by Hakkasan — modern Cantonese sharing plates and terrace cocktails to a DJ soundtrack, dinner
- Ling Ling Bar — a cocktail bar with a terrace and DJ sets into the night
- Pool Garden — Mediterranean lunches from local organic produce beside the main pool, under bougainvillea pergolas
- Salon Berbère — a lounge at the heart of the resort overlooking the gardens, with coffee in the morning and aperitifs on the terrace in the evening
- The Tent — an open-air bar among the palms serving cocktails inspired by Morocco's regions with tapas from sunset
- In-Villa Dining — round-the-clock dining in the villa or suite, from barbecues to Moroccan feasts of mechoui and couscous on the private terrace
