About this hotel
General information
La Mamounia is the grande dame of Marrakech: a palace hotel just inside the twelfth-century walls of the medina, wrapped in gardens whose story begins with an eighteenth-century orchard laid out for open-air receptions. The original building, designed by the architects Henri Prost and Antoine Marchisio, joins the codes of Moroccan architecture to Art Deco lines, and a later contemporary redesign carried that conversation into the restaurants, gallery and lounges.
There are 209 keys in all — 135 rooms, 71 suites and three private riads — finished in carved wood, zellige, sculpted plaster and mashrabiya screens, with the hotel's own date-scented fragrance in the air. It is known for gardens of olive, orange and palm trees, 27 fountains, a vast heated pool, a 2,500 m² spa and views that run from the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque to the snow-capped Atlas.
Location
The hotel sits in the Hivernage quarter, right against the walls of the medina: the Koutoubia Mosque, Jemaa el-Fnaa square and the souks of the old town are a few minutes away. Marrakech Menara Airport is 6 km off, about 10 minutes by car, and the hotel arranges private transfers from there as well as from Casablanca airport, 200 km or roughly two hours away.
Spa
La Mamounia Spa spreads over 2,500 m² of marble and mosaic: two traditional hammams and a private one, ten treatment rooms including rooms for couples, a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and relaxation room. The menu runs to more than 80 face and body treatments, plus hammam rituals with neroli-scented black soap, a kessa-glove scrub and a ghassoul clay wrap. A private spa area with its own hammam, double treatment room and jacuzzi can be reserved, and a hair salon with barbers and nail artists completes the picture.
Sports & leisure
Two clay tennis courts, padel, table tennis and a boules pitch are tucked among the garden paths. The gym looks onto the gardens, and trainers lead private sessions in strength work, cardio, Pilates and yoga.

The outdoor pool, 25 × 26 m and lined with Murano glass, lies at the centre of the gardens, heated to 28 °C all year and treated with ozone, with loungers and a pool bar alongside. The spa has a quieter heated indoor pool for guests aged 18 and over (16 with an adult), and each Riad has its own heated pool.
