About this hotel
General information
La Fiermontina Ocean is an eco-retreat on the wild Atlantic coast of Larache, south of Tangier. It sits within the Sahel dune regional natural park, between the green hills of northern Morocco and the ocean, across some 130 hectares of rock, ancient ruins and sand dunes above an untouched beach. The final approach is a five-kilometre rural track, so the sense of remoteness begins before arrival.
Clad in local stone, the buildings are set into the terrain so that they almost disappear, with gardens cut into the rock. The main complex above the ocean holds 12 suites and a family villa; four traditional houses stand in the nearby village of Dchier around the hammam and Café Maure. The retreat is closely bound to the surrounding villages: local people staff it, cooperatives supply the kitchen, and its own 7,500 olive trees give olives and oil. Children are welcome from the age of eight, and the whole property is non-smoking.
Location
On the Atlantic coast of Larache province, close to Asilah and Tangier; the last 5.5 km to the gate are an unpaved track. By car, Rabat is about two hours away, Casablanca and Fes around three, Marrakech roughly six. The Lixus archaeological park and the old town of Larache are nearby. The hotel gives detailed driving routes from Tangier airport and Casablanca airport, and reception arranges airport transfers as well as trips to places guests want to visit; valet parking includes charging points for electric cars.
Spa
The wellness centre is a 300 m² hammam in the village of Dchier, set among hills and beds of medicinal herbs. It has traditional steam rooms, marble slabs for exfoliation, warm showers and massage rooms using natural oils, argan among them. The rituals pair Moroccan tradition with ingredients from the garden: Sandalwood of the Orient with black soap, henna and a prickly pear seed scrub; Desert Sand with nila, gardenia and vanilla; Poppy with a red-fruit scrub; and Citrus with grapefruit and basil. Lymphatic and facial massages complete the menu, alongside hour-long yoga and meditation sessions with qualified teachers, and fruit and mint tea at Café Maure afterwards.
Sports & leisure
Activities draw on the ocean and on village life around the retreat:
- surfing and bodyboarding lessons with instructors, stand-up paddle and kayaking from the private beach
- horseback rides along the shore with specialist guides

- Ocean Restaurant — Italian cooking alongside traditional Moroccan dishes made by local cooks, such as couscous and lamb tagine, with organic produce from nearby farmers; a panoramic terrace and a dining room with a fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows onto the ocean and dunes; breakfast combines an à la carte menu with a buffet
- the bar at Ocean Restaurant — fresh cocktails and the chef's tapas facing the ocean, with an adjoining Cigar Lounge offering Cuban cigars

Swimming
There is no shared pool: every pool suite and Villa Akhazane has its own pool on the terrace, with sun loungers and an ocean view. The private beach club, on a stretch of fine sand, is a 20-minute walk along a private path or about ten minutes by shuttle on request; it is furnished with white tents and bamboo tables, and water sports with instructors start from here.
Pets
Pets are not allowed anywhere on the property.
