About this hotel
General information
The resort spreads across 16 hectares of gardens in Hivernage, between the old medina and the newer districts of Marrakech. Its main buildings are modelled on a Moorish palace ringed by pavilions, and the rooms are reached through arcades, courtyards and stairways in the manner of a traditional riad. Pools, reflecting basins, fountains and pavilions that appear to float on the water sit among palms and olive trees.
There are 141 rooms in all – main-building and pavilion rooms, suites and three garden villas – and every one has its own terrace or balcony. Interiors pair Moroccan handicraft with contemporary design. The resort is built with families in mind, with a dedicated kids’ club, a teen centre and a family pool, while an adults-only pool keeps a quieter corner for everyone else.
Location
The resort sits on Boulevard de la Menara in Hivernage, facing the historic Menara Gardens; the medina is within walking distance and the city’s main sights are about ten minutes away by car. Marrakech Menara Airport is 3.5 km away, roughly 15 minutes’ drive, and the concierge arranges car or limousine transfers as well as an airport meet-and-greet with fast-track arrival.
Spa
The Moroccan-styled spa has eight treatment rooms, most opening onto quiet terraces, plus a couples’ suite, a sound-healing room and a hair and nail salon. Separate men’s and women’s areas each offer a sauna, a warm whirlpool, a steam room, a mosaic-tiled hammam and indoor and outdoor plunge pools, with a garden relaxation lounge alongside. Signature treatments include the traditional Moroccan hammam ritual with a full-body scrub and Atlas clay mask, and the Argania massage, which blends Middle Eastern and Western techniques with argan oil. After a treatment, guests can retreat to the adults-only quiet pool.
Sports & leisure
The resort has a 350 m² fitness centre with daily group classes and personal training, outdoor yoga in the gardens, two floodlit clay tennis courts for evening play, and tennis and padel lessons with a coach. The Maarifa boutique showcases Moroccan craftsmanship and runs workshops in mint-tea brewing, Arabic calligraphy and the art of bargaining in the souk, and there is a Moroccan cooking class too. The concierge arranges walking, cycling and sidecar tours of the medina, sunrise hot-air balloon flights, off-road outings in the Agafay Desert, hikes in the Atlas Mountains, trips to the Ourika Valley and day excursions to Essaouira, Casablanca and Rabat.
For children
The complimentary, fully supervised Kids For All Seasons club occupies its own kasbah-style building at the heart of the resort, with a small theatre, a mini kitchen, outdoor play areas and a shallow pool of its own; the programme covers games, arts and crafts and performances by local entertainers. Older children and teenagers have the Young Adult Centre, with a games room, computer stations and a cinema that hosts teen movie nights. The spa has a dedicated menu for children and teens over 12, and babysitting and a family dinner in the Agafay Desert can be arranged.
Restaurants & bars
Four restaurants and bars share the gardens, backed by 24-hour in-room dining.
- Quattro – restaurant and bar overlooking the fountain: international breakfast (buffet and à la carte), contemporary Mediterranean cooking in the evening and signature cocktails
- Inara – Moroccan restaurant and lounge in the spirit of a riad, with a central fountain and a terrace over the palm garden; live music on select evenings
- Azzera – pool bar and grill beside the adults-only pool, shaded by palms and olive trees
- Zest Rooftop Lounge – rooftop bar with 360° views of the Atlas and the city’s gardens, serving sunset drinks and Asian small plates
Swimming
There are two main pools: a 35-metre family pool with alcoves, cabanas and a children’s area, and an adults-only quiet pool with private cabanas and service at the loungers. The kids’ club has its own shallow pool, and the patio suites and villas come with heated plunge pools or lap pools of their own.
