About this hotel
General information
Le Méridien Beach Plaza sits on Larvotto Beach in Monte-Carlo and is the only hotel in Monaco with a private beach of its own. The water in front of it lies within a protected marine reserve, which the hotel looks after together with the Monegasque Association for Nature Protection, and it has held the Green Key eco-label every year since 2011.
This is a large urban resort: 398 rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows, five pools, a sauna and a beauty institute, five restaurants including a Japanese speakeasy, and the Sea Club conference centre with 3,000 m² of space. Pines shade the pool terraces and beach restaurants, and the Le Méridien Hub, the brand’s take on a lobby, opens onto the terrace and the beach. A room key doubles as a free pass to the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco through the Unlock Art programme.
Location
The hotel stands at 22 Avenue Princesse Grace in Monte-Carlo, directly on Larvotto Beach, with the Japanese Garden and the Grimaldi Forum on the same avenue and the district’s shops and nightlife close by. Nice Côte d’Azur airport is about 33 km away, reached by car or by helicopter.
Spa
L’Institut by MWS handles massage and beauty, from Californian massage and Ayurvedic rituals to maderotherapy and advanced face and body treatments, with a treatment cabin set beneath the pines facing the sea. Guests also have use of a sauna and of Studio 22 for yoga and Pilates.
Sports & leisure
The Sea Club fitness centre has cardio machines, free weights, rowing machines and strength equipment, and Studio 22 runs Hatha, Yin and Vinyasa yoga, Pilates and strength sessions. From June to September a water-sports base on the beach sends paddleboards and kayaks out from the hotel jetty, while jet skiing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, parasailing and e-foiling leave from a platform beyond the marine reserve. Aquagym and aquabike classes in the indoor pool are free for hotel guests.
For children
In July and August a complimentary Kids Club takes children aged 4–12 from 10:00 to 18:00 in a pine-shaded space, with a weekly programme of creative workshops, outdoor games, yoga and activities drawn from the marine reserve. Wednesdays are given to family activities and Saturdays to Kids’ Nights, while parents dine at the restaurant. Two shallow pools are reserved for young children, and outside the summer season children’s workshops accompany the Sunday brunch.
Restaurants & bars
Five restaurants and a cocktail bar, most of them looking out to sea; room service runs around the clock.
- Le Café Lacoste — sport-chic French bistronomy on a menu curated by Riccardo Giraudi; breakfast is served here and at L’Intempo
- L’Intempo — Italian dishes for sharing, on a broad terrace or in a bright veranda facing the Mediterranean
- Sen — an intimate Japanese speakeasy led by Tokyo-trained chef Hiroki Hiyama
- Muse — Mediterranean cooking in the shade of the pines, open in summer
- Alang Bar — a Balinese-style beach restaurant on the sand for lunch, aperitifs and cocktails, April to September
- Longitude Bar — crafted cocktails
Swimming
The lifeguarded private beach, open from April to September, lies within the Larvotto marine reserve, with loungers and shaded decks served by the Alang restaurant. Among the pines beside it are two heated seawater pools and two shallow pools for small children, open in the warm months, and a heated freshwater indoor pool under a glass atrium is open all year.
Pets
One pet of up to 12 kg is accepted per room at an extra charge; pets are not allowed on the beach or around the pools.
