Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo

About this hotel

General information

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has stood on Place du Casino since 1864, and for more than a century and a half it has been the principality’s grand address — the palace where Monaco’s great occasions tend to unfold. The Casino de Monte-Carlo and the Opéra de Monte-Carlo share the square, and the fashion houses of One Monte-Carlo begin a few steps away. After a four-year transformation the hotel has 206 rooms, junior suites and suites, crowned by the Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III Diamond Suites with their terraces open to the sea.

Food and wine define the house: the three-Michelin-starred Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse, the starred Le Grill on the eighth floor, and cellars the hotel describes as the largest of any hotel in the world. Le Bar Américain has received guests since 1928 and has live music every evening. Residents have direct access to the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, the rooftop Wellness Sky Club and, in season, the private Monte-Carlo Beach Club. The hotel is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and holds Green Globe Gold certification.

Location

The hotel faces Place du Casino in Monte-Carlo, the central district of the Principality of Monaco, a 12-minute walk from Monaco station. Nice Côte d’Azur airport is about 30 km away — roughly half an hour by car or a seven-minute helicopter flight — and the hotel arranges limousine and helicopter transfers.

Spa

Guests have direct access to the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, a 6,600 m² wellness centre shared with the Hôtel Hermitage. It has a 25-metre indoor pool of heated seawater looking over the Mediterranean, a sauna, hammam, solarium and an outdoor whirlpool facing the harbour and the Rock, a panoramic gym, beauty and hair salons and L’Hirondelle, a healthy restaurant. Programmes are drawn up by a doctor, a nutritionist and trainers, with La Prairie and Decorté as partner brands. In season, the 500 m² Wellness Sky Club on the hotel’s top floor — for resident guests aged 16 and over — adds a heated panoramic pool, a sauna, a hammam and a relaxation room.

Sports & leisure

The Wellness Sky Club has a Technogym fitness room with a personal trainer on request, and the Thermes Marins add a panoramic gym. Through the resort, guests have preferential access to the Monte-Carlo Country Club — 21 clay courts stepped above the sea, plus hard and squash courts — and to the 18-hole Monte-Carlo Golf Club, 900 m above sea level. Stays include free entry to the Casino de Monte-Carlo and a private shuttle around the resort; in season the Monte-Carlo Beach Club adds padel, group classes, paddle-boarding, kayaks and water bikes.

For children

Babies up to three find a wooden cot, changing mat and baby bath in the room, and children aged 4–6 an extra bed with a safety rail and child-sized amenities. Breakfast includes a dedicated children’s buffet, and Le Grill, Em Sherif Monte-Carlo, Le Bar Américain and room service have children’s menus. In season, children aged 4–12 can join the Monte-Carlo Kids Club by Petit VIP at the Monte-Carlo Beach Club (charged, with a parent staying at the club). The Wellness Sky Club is closed to under-16s.

Restaurants & bars

Two Michelin-starred dining rooms set the tone for a compact, carefully judged line-up, with room service as well.

  • Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse à l’Hôtel de Paris — three Michelin stars; light, Riviera-led cooking by Alain Ducasse and Emmanuel Pilon
  • Le Grill — Michelin-starred Mediterranean cooking, spit-roasted meats and seafood on the eighth floor, with views reaching the Italian coast
  • Em Sherif Monte-Carlo — Lebanese dishes for sharing and music evenings, open in summer
  • Cedric Grolet Monte-Carlo — the executive pastry chef’s tea room and boutique on the patio
  • Le Bar Américain — wood, velvet and leather armchairs since 1928, with live jazz every evening and signature cocktails
  • Les Caves de l’Hôtel de Paris — 1,500 m² of cellars holding more than 300,000 bottles, open for guided visits and private dinners
Swimming

The hotel has no beach of its own, but in season guests use the private Monte-Carlo Beach Club at Monte-Carlo Beach: a gently sloping strip of fine sand with a pontoon, cabanas and loungers, and a heated Olympic-size seawater pool. The resort shuttle runs there, and a boat links the club with Port Hercule.

Pets

One dog of up to 15 kg is accepted per room for a daily supplement. Dogs are welcome at Le Bar Américain and the Cedric Grolet tea room, but not in the other restaurants, the cellars, the Thermes Marins or the Wellness Sky Club.
