General information
Zadún, the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Mexico, is set into the sand dunes of the San José del Cabo coast, where the desert meets the Sea of Cortés. Its architecture dissolves the line between rooms and terraces, and the art, textiles, furniture and objects throughout come from craftspeople in Oaxaca, Yucatán, Campeche, Mexico City, Jalisco and Puebla.
All 113 rooms, suites and villas face the sea, most with their own plunge pool. Each guest is looked after by a personal Tosoani, a Nahuatl word meaning “dream watcher”. The resort is known for cooking that revives Mexico’s regional traditions, for Sensei wellness programmes and for nature expeditions led through Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment.
Location
The resort sits on Boulevard Mar de Cortez in Puerto Los Cabos, close to the historic centre of San José del Cabo and the Puerto Los Cabos marina. The nearest airport is Los Cabos International; transfers are available by private car or limousine.
Spa
Sensei Wellness & Spa follows Sensei’s three paths of move, nourish and rest, with evidence-led practices overseen by Sensei Guides. Facilities include treatment rooms and couples’ suites, a hydrotherapy circuit with pool, plunge pool and steam room, separate men’s and women’s lounges, a savasana room for meditation, a temazcal, a fitness studio and a movement studio. Beyond massages, facials and body treatments, one-to-one consultations cover fitness, meditation, nutrition, yoga and sleep.
Sports & leisure
The 24-hour fitness centre has a lap pool, and small-group warm-ups, strength sessions and open-air meditation are complimentary. Resident pros teach private tennis, pickleball and padel. Five minutes away, Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club offers 27 holes by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus. With Ambassadors of the Environment naturalists, guests reach the reefs of Cabo Pulmo, snorkel with whale sharks near La Paz, watch whales in winter, hike the desert and explore historic San José del Cabo.
For children
Guardians of Baja, a reimagined Ritz Kids programme, makes children honorary guardians of Baja’s nature: bird-watching, gardening and storytelling about Mexican culture for ages 5–12, and reef snorkelling, night-time stargazing and winter whale watching for ages 9–16. The main pool at El Barrio is for families, and suites can host the resort’s signature in-room camping for children.
Restaurants & bars
Dining at Zadún revives the culinary traditions of Mexico’s regions.

Swimming
The resort has private access to the Sea of Cortés beach. The main pool at El Barrio is for families, Equis has an adults-only pool with private cabanas, and there is a lap pool at the fitness centre, a whirlpool and a swim-up bar. All pools are heated and open around the clock.

Pets are welcome, one per room.

Rooms, suites and villas are spread across the dunes, with sliding glass doors opening onto large terraces with plunge pools and views of the Sea of Cortés. The two-storey, five-bedroom Grand Reserve Villa on the beach crowns the collection.
Rooms have featherbeds, a sitting area, a walk-in wardrobe, a bathroom with separate tub and shower, double vanities and Sensei products, a coffee maker, mini fridge, safe, free Wi-Fi and evening turndown.
