About this hotel
General information
Rosewood Mayakoba occupies part of the gated Mayakoba enclave on the Riviera Maya, some 240 hectares of lagoons, mangroves, jungle and white Caribbean shoreline. The grounds are car-free: guests are brought to their suites by boat along winding canals, turtles drift past the terraces and herons stalk the banks, while the world’s second-largest barrier reef lies offshore.
Mexico shows itself in the details — indigenous art and local craftwork in the interiors, cacao ceremonies and temazcal rituals, and a weekly communal dinner of garden produce served beneath a sacred ceiba tree. The resort is made up entirely of suites and villas, most with a private pool, and every guest is looked after by a butler. There are eight restaurants and bars, a spa on its own jungle island and the El Camaleón championship golf course within the enclave.
Location
The resort lies on the federal highway between Cancún and Playa del Carmen in Quintana Roo, between the Yucatán jungle and the Caribbean Sea. Cancún International Airport is about 45 km away, a 30–40 minute drive; the resort arranges private SUV transfers with meet-and-greet outside the terminal.
Spa
Sense, A Rosewood Spa is hidden in the foliage of its own island, set apart from the rest of the resort. It has 12 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy circuit with sauna, steam rooms and hot and cold plunge pools, relaxation lounges, a private yoga pavilion, the Kuxtal sensory garden and eight Wellness Suites for overnight programmes. Signature rituals include a shaman-led temazcal, a Kuxtal garden ritual drawing on Maya beliefs, a 90-minute massage with a custom-blended oil and HydraFacial treatments. The adults-only Spa Serenity Pool is dedicated to hydrotherapy.

For children
The Rosewood Explorers programme covers children’s menus, childcare and a full kit for babies — cribs, monitors, baby baths, bottle warmers, child-size robes and slippers. Activities include eco-tours with a biologist, scavenger hunts, themed nights, Spanish lessons, Maya storytelling, pizza, cookie, pottery and mocktail workshops, DJ classes and open-air movie nights. Young explorers can join a guided tour of Mayakoba’s cenotes that ends with a Cenote Explorer badge, or cycle a 4 km trail through the mangrove forest. Children aged 11–16 can book short spa treatments with an adult present.

Swimming
The resort opens onto a white-sand Caribbean beach. The beachfront pool at Aquí Me Quedo comes with the La Cantina food truck; the lagoon-side Casa del Lago and Punta Bonita pools welcome both adults and families; there is also a lap pool, the adults-only Spa Serenity Pool and a separate pool reserved for villa guests. Poolside service runs at all of them.
Pets
Cats and dogs are welcome, up to two per suite or villa, for an additional fee. On a lead they may join their owners in restaurants, bars, pool areas and around the grounds, but not on the beaches, and they may not be left alone in the accommodation.
