General information
Las Ventanas al Paraíso steps down gentle slopes to a white beach on the Sea of Cortez, close to where it meets the Pacific. Around it lie desert studded with giant cacti, rocky mountains and green golf courses. The architecture takes its cue from the Mexican hacienda: wood and stone, limestone floors, fireplaces and the handiwork and art of local craftspeople.
There are 84 suites and villas plus one- to three-bedroom residences, and every guest has a personal butler. The resort is known for its spa, built on the four elements and the rituals of ancient healers, for six restaurants and bars ranging from the beachfront Italian Alebrije to the La Botica speakeasy, for its eight pools and for the Rosewood Explorers family programme. It is managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
Location
The resort stands on the beach in the Los Cabos tourist corridor, between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Los Cabos International Airport is about 20 minutes away by car.
Spa
The Spa at Las Ventanas builds its menu around the four elements — earth, air, fire and water — and the rituals of the ancient healers of Los Cabos, Reiki among them. There are indoor and outdoor areas, saunas and steam rooms, hot and cold plunge pools, relaxation lounges, yoga and Pilates studios and a salon for hair and nails. Signature treatments include a four-hands mezcal massage, a CBD stone massage and rituals for two, using Bellefontaine products.
Sports & leisure
There are eight pools, among them beachfront infinity pools, a 270 m² fitness centre with yoga and Pilates studios, and two tennis courts with a coach. The resort offers surfing, diving, fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding, cruises on its own yacht, whale watching, desert excursions, horse riding, cooking classes and tequila tastings. Two championship golf courses are close by.
For children
Rosewood Explorers introduces children to Mexico through play: pizza and tacos at the Oasis pool, decorating cookies, sombreros and piñatas, treasure hunts, beach cinema, storytelling, family boot camp, pickleball and golf, plus children’s spa treatments. For the youngest there are cribs, changing tables, baby baths, monitors, robes and slippers, and babysitting on request. The oceanfront junior suites are for adults only.
Restaurants & bars
The resort’s restaurants and bars look out to sea:
- Arbol — coastal cooking with Asian and Indian notes, ocean-view dinners and Sunken Tables with live music
- Alebrije — Italian cuisine, dinner right by the beach
- Sea Grill — Mexican cooking, the day’s catch from the grill and ceviche with sea views
- Tequila & Ceviche Bar — ceviche, sushi and Mexican-Japanese dishes, with Agave Experience tequila tastings
- La Cava — wine cellar for private dinners with the sommelier
- La Botica — speakeasy inspired by the Prohibition era
- La Taqueria — handmade tacos by the pool
The beachfront Sunset Bar opens from November to April, and private dinners are set up on the beach, on a rooftop terrace or by a villa’s pool.
Swimming
The resort has its own white-sand beach on the Sea of Cortez, lined with cabanas that have private plunge pools and Jacuzzis.
Pets
Pets are welcome: dogs have their own butler and a dedicated menu.
Rooms
The 84 suites and villas and the one- to three-bedroom residences are styled as a Mexican hacienda, with wood, stone and limestone floors, fireplaces, local art and crafts, and patios or terraces facing the sea or the gardens. Every guest has a personal butler.
