General information
Chileno Bay Resort & Residences wraps around a sheltered cove between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas — one of the few places in Los Cabos where the sea is calm enough for easy swimming, with a coral reef of tropical fish and sea turtles just off the sand. Part of Auberge Collection, the resort offers a contemporary take on the classic Baja escape: airy open spaces, sandstone and bleached wood, floor-to-ceiling glass and a private terrace for every room.
There are 160 accommodations, ranging from rooms and suites to multi-bedroom villas, rooftop Sky Villas and the six-bedroom Brisa del Mar on the beach itself. The resort is known for the still waters of its bay, a three-tiered zero-edge pool, the Mexican restaurant COMAL, Sol spa and a well-judged family programme. It is open all year, and from November to April migrating whales can be spotted from the shore.
Location
Chileno Bay on the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez), at kilometre 15 of the highway between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur. San José del Cabo International Airport is about 30 minutes by car; private transfers are arranged on request, and rental cars are available at the airport or the resort. A complimentary shuttle runs between Chileno Bay and its sister resort, Esperanza.
Spa
Sol, The Spa at Chileno Bay pairs science-led recovery with the healing traditions of Baja. Every visit can begin at The Bath House, a 55-minute thermal circuit of hot and cold plunges, steam, pink Himalayan salt rooms and sound therapy, complimentary for resort guests. There is a Nap Garden with a pebble-floored reflexology pool, open-air treatment rooms and a cold plunge on the beach; reef-friendly Dune Suncare products can be added to any treatment.
Sports & leisure
The beachside H2O Cave lends equipment free of charge, and its guides match each activity to the guest’s level.

For children
Pescaditos Kids Club welcomes children aged 5–12 daily from 9 am to 5 pm by reservation, with piñata and puppet making and poolside games; hourly childcare is available for under-fives at extra cost. Teens aged 12–17 have their own Escondite club with pool, foosball, table tennis and games consoles (daily, 9 am–9 pm). Families also have a family pool and a shallow kids’ pool, children’s menus in every restaurant, babysitters, complimentary cribs, high chairs and baby monitors, plus game nights, movie nights and pyjama parties in the evenings.
Restaurants & bars
Cooking here draws on Latin American traditions and Baja produce; in-room dining runs around the clock and a private chef can be booked for the villas.

Swimming
A golden beach runs for almost 800 m along the calm, Blue Flag-certified bay; Chileno Bay is the only resort with direct access, and loungers and bungalows line the shore. The three-tiered zero-edge pool is divided into an adults-only section, where drinks are served in the water from 3 pm, a family pool with shaded cabanas and a shallow kids’ pool. Many villas have their own pool or hot tub.
Pets
Up to two pets weighing under 18 kg are welcome for a fee. Dogs receive a kit with a map of pet-relief areas, bowls and accessories on arrival, with extra treats for those staying in villas.
