About this hotel
General information
Chablé Maroma lies within the protected Punta Maroma reserve on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatán, where dense jungle runs right down to a white-sand beach. Part of the Mexican group Chablé Hotels and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the resort has 70 villas tucked into the greenery along shaded jungle paths.
Interiors are by the Mexican designer Paulina Morán: tropical woods, natural light, textiles and pieces by local artisans. The resort’s two pillars are wellness rooted in Maya tradition and food: all Chablé kitchens are overseen by chef Jorge Vallejo of Quintonil fame. Guests have a spa with a temazcal, a fitness centre, yoga and meditation, and spaces for meetings, private events and weddings.
Location
The resort is in the Punta Maroma reserve on the Riviera Maya, about 19 km north of Playa del Carmen. The drive from Cancún International Airport takes around 35–40 minutes, and the hotel arranges private transfers.
Spa
The spa journey is built around three elements: the ocean for purification, the tree for balance and air for transformation. The menu includes face and body treatments with local natural ingredients, a Maya water ceremony and a temazcal ritual in the traditional sweat lodge that represents the womb of Mother Earth. Facilities include steam rooms, separate men’s and women’s changing areas, a relaxation lounge with healthy snacks and an outdoor vitality pool.
Sports & leisure
The fitness centre is equipped with Technogym, and daily beach yoga and meditation sessions are held, with the spa team on hand to shape a personal programme. There is a large outdoor pool. Active options include kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkelling on the Mesoamerican Reef, cenote diving, catamaran sailing and visits to Maya ruins. Other experiences range from a Maya recipes workshop with local cooks to a tasting dinner and a mixology class.
For children
Families are welcome: Treetop villas sleep two adults and two children, Jungle villas two adults and a child under 12, and Bu’ul and Kaban both offer children’s menus. There is no kids’ club — the resort is geared first and foremost to tranquillity.
Restaurants & bars
All venues are led by chef Jorge Vallejo with resident chef Carlos Navarrete, and in-villa dining is available.
- Bu’ul — dinner on the shore of the Caribbean: contemporary cuisine of the Yucatán Peninsula, recognised by the MICHELIN Guide, with a wine cellar for private tastings
- Kaban — cooking from Mexico’s coasts, from the Pacific to the Caribbean, by the beach and pool from breakfast to dinner
- Raw Bar — a sea-view terrace above Bu’ul serving seafood with Asian touches and cocktails created with Mexico City’s RAYO Cocktail Bar
Swimming
The resort has its own private beach of about 200 metres on Maroma, one of Mexico’s most beautiful stretches of powdery white sand and turquoise water. The Mesoamerican Reef runs just offshore.
