About this hotel
General information
Sugar Beach Mauritius stretches along a 1.5 km white-sand beach at Flic en Flac on the west coast of Mauritius, where the sun sets over the Indian Ocean every evening. At its heart stands the Manor House, a grand residence with a lawn spread before it, while Creole-style villa houses are scattered through manicured gardens around it. There are 238 rooms and suites, each with its own balcony or terrace.
The mood is relaxed with a sense of occasion: two pools, one of them among the largest hotel pools on the island, the GLOW by Sunlife spa, a gym, five tennis courts and complimentary water sports. Evenings bring seafood, tapas and a buffet of world cuisines, while a tea lounge serves through the day. Children and teenagers have clubs of their own, and golfers play free at two partner courses elsewhere on the island.
Location
The resort sits directly on the beach at Flic en Flac, on the west coast of Mauritius. The drive from Mauritius International Airport takes around an hour; private transfers and taxis can be arranged at extra cost.
Spa
GLOW by Sunlife offers hot stone massages, time-honoured beauty rituals and hour-long sessions of sound and breathing practice, using crystal and Tibetan bowls and drums, some held by the sea. A traditional hammam can be enjoyed before treatments, and there are single and couples' treatment rooms, a dedicated shiatsu area and a hair and beauty salon for men and women. Detox juices and fragrant teas are served afterwards.
Sports & leisure
The programme suits both active and unhurried guests:
- a 300 m² air-conditioned gym with a weekly timetable of fitness classes; personal training in fitness or tennis at extra cost
- five tennis courts, football, beach volleyball, table tennis, bocce and a martial arts space for tae bo, kickboxing, judo and karate; padel at extra cost

- golf: there is no course on site, but guests enjoy free, unlimited green fees at two partner courses — the 18-hole Tamarina Golf Club on the west coast (with a free return shuttle) and Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club on its own island off the east coast (free boat from the jetty, road transfer to the jetty extra) — plus a free daily introductory session at Ile aux Cerfs
For children
Sunlife Kids' Club runs daily activities for children aged 2–11, and teenagers have a club of their own, with everything from paddleboarding to arts and crafts. Both clubs are free and come with their own buffet and their own pool.
