General information
Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa is a boutique hotel on the south coast of Mauritius, set in 14.5 hectares of tropical gardens with ponds and exotic planting, beside a white-sand beach and the turquoise Indian Ocean. It is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
Its defining feature is Shanti Spa, which at 7,000 m² is one of the largest in the region. Rooms and pool villas face the ocean, the restaurants draw on Mauritian cooking and on herbs and vegetables from the hotel’s own garden, and the days can be filled with water sports, golf, tennis, yoga or dolphin watching. A library, boutique, conference room, limousine service and concierge are on hand, and the hotel arranges weddings and honeymoon programmes.
Location
The hotel lies in the Chemin Grenier area on the south coast of Mauritius, 57 km from the capital, Port Louis. The international airport is 35 km away, around a 40-minute drive.
Spa
Shanti Spa occupies 7,000 m² of tropical garden arranged around a pond with islets, footbridges and tea pavilions over the water. It has a spa pool, a Jacuzzi, a Watsu pool, saunas, hammams, a gym, pavilions for yoga, meditation and Pilates, a beauty salon, relaxation areas and 25 treatment rooms, including a couples’ spa suite. The menu spans massages, scrubs, wraps, hydrotherapy, Ayurveda, Thai and other Eastern therapies, beauty treatments and comprehensive programmes with different focuses.
Sports & leisure
The large outdoor pool and Jacuzzi are complemented by a fitness centre, two floodlit tennis courts, a 9-hole golf practice course, garden jogging trails and a yoga pavilion. There is a water-sports centre, and activities include snorkelling, fishing, boat trips, dolphin watching, aqua aerobics, meditation, Pilates, cycling, cooking classes, evening entertainment and excursions. Water-sports, snorkelling and tennis equipment and bicycles are available for hire. The 18-hole Avalon golf course is a 10-minute drive away.
For children
Les Petits Dodo, the club for children aged 3–12, has a children’s pool, playground, playrooms and a TV room, with a programme of games and activities. Babysitting is available on request.

Dining at Shanti Maurice centres on the cuisines of the Indian Ocean and authentic Mauritian flavours.

Swimming
The hotel has a secluded white-sand beach.

The 61 suites and villas pair contemporary elegance with island motifs, and their balconies and terraces look out over the Indian Ocean and the tropical gardens.
Every room has air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a DVD player, a telephone, free Wi-Fi, a safe, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities and a Nespresso machine, plus a bathtub, rain shower, double vanity, hairdryer and toiletries in the bathroom.

A king-size or twin bedroom with sitting area, walk-in wardrobe, bathroom and an ocean-view balcony on the first floor. Sleeps two adults and two children.

A first-floor suite close to the beach, with a veranda, sun loungers, dining area and ocean views. Sleeps two adults and two children.

A ground-floor suite with outdoor shower and a terrace with sun loungers and dining area that opens straight onto the beach. Sleeps two adults and two children.
Oceanview Pool Villa
An ocean-view villa with king-size bedroom, sitting area, outdoor shower, a private garden with heated pool and hydromassage area, and a dining pavilion. Sleeps two adults and two children.
Beachfront Suite Pool Villa
A villa on the beach with a spacious living and dining room, king-size bedroom, garden with heated hydromassage pool and a dining pavilion. Sleeps two adults and two children.
Oceanview Double Suite Pool Villa
Two king-size bedrooms, two bathrooms and two walk-in wardrobes, a spacious living and dining room, a garden with heated hydromassage pool and ocean views. Sleeps four adults and four children.
Oceanfront Double Suite Pool Villa
The same two-bedroom layout with heated pool, set by the beach with ocean views. Sleeps four adults and four children.
Shanti Villa
A beachside villa with two bedrooms, kitchen, staff room, wraparound balcony, inner courtyard and a garden with a 140 m² heated pool; a third bedroom with children’s beds can be added. Sleeps six adults and four children, with a personal butler.
