About this hotel
General information
Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa occupies the south-western tip of Mauritius on the Le Morne peninsula, with the lagoon and a white beach on one side, its own 18-hole golf course on the other and Le Morne Brabant rising behind. Interiors are light and relaxed, in wood, white and deep blue, and most rooms and suites look out to the sea or the tropical gardens.
The resort is geared above all to families and golfers, with a free children’s club, two-bedroom family suites and 13 private villas by the beach, while an adults-only area keeps a quieter corner apart. Four restaurants and four bars, a spa, tennis courts and a water-sports centre complete the picture, and an all-inclusive meal plan is available as an option.
Location
The hotel lies on the Le Morne peninsula on the south-west coast of Mauritius, between the lagoon and the golf course at the foot of Le Morne Brabant. Helicopter transfers and island flights can be booked in advance at extra cost, car hire is available and parking is free.
Spa
The spa has eight treatment rooms, two of them for couples, two open-air cabins and an outdoor yoga platform. There are also two dry and two wet steam baths, a relaxation pool, an aesthetics room, beauty and hair salons and a rest area.
Sports & leisure
Golf and sport set the tone of the resort:
- the resort’s own Paradis Golf Club course, 18 holes and par 72, laid out along the shore of the bay with mountains behind; a driving range, a pro shop, Callaway club hire and electric GPS carts
- Paradis Golf Academy, with a swing-analysis studio, club fitting and private lessons from four professionals, including on-course coaching for families; guests also have privileged access to Mont Choisy Le Golf
- a sports centre with Technogym fitness and weights rooms, an aerobics room, personal trainers and a steam bath for guests aged 16 and over
- six floodlit tennis courts, bocce, table tennis, football, beach volleyball and jogging tracks
- included: water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, Laser and Hobie Cat sailing, kayaks, stand-up paddle, pedal boats, snorkelling, glass-bottom boat trips and aqua aerobics
- at extra cost: a PADI dive centre with courses up to Divemaster, night paddling, catamaran days with lunch on board, mountain biking and quad biking
- mountain nature trails, island excursions and cookery classes, with live music in the evenings
For children
The free kids’ club welcomes children aged 3–11 daily from 9 am to 11 pm, with its own pool, creative and discovery workshops, its own restaurant and staff trained in first aid. Babysitting can be arranged at extra cost with 24 hours’ notice.
Restaurants & bars
Dining moves between Mauritian and Creole cooking, Mediterranean plates and international menus, often with tables set out on the sand.
- Le Brabant — the main restaurant beside the pool, facing the ocean: buffets with live cooking stations and themed Asian, Italian, local and French evenings
- Zest — Mediterranean cooking on the beach under thatched canopies, with a lounge looking over the lagoon
- Blue Marlin — creative Mauritian and international cuisine in an elegant dining room, backed by a substantial wine cellar
- La Ravanne — Creole and Mauritian dinners in thatched kiosks on the beach
- Paradis Bar — the main bar near the pool and beach, indoors and in the open air
- Zest Bar & Lounge — cocktails and tapas on the beach, a favourite spot at sunset
- La Ravanne Bar — cocktails built around Mauritian rum
- Golf Club Bar — drinks and sandwiches at the clubhouse by the first tee
Room service runs from early morning until late evening.
Swimming
The hotel opens straight onto a white-sand beach and the calm Le Morne lagoon. There is a main pool, heated in the cooler months, a separate pool at the kids’ club and a relaxation pool in the spa; villa and beachfront suite guests have their own loungers on the beach.
