General information
LUX* Belle Mare lies on the east coast of Mauritius, along a long stretch of fine white sand that runs down the shore. The resort pairs a minimal look with a tropical mood: sand-white walls and fabrics with coral and green accents, paths lined with greenery and sheer linen, and tables cast from reclaimed local sand.
Suites are built in a beach-hut style, each with its own terrace or balcony, while a separate part of the grounds holds villas with heated pools and a butler. Adults-only areas sit beside the main pool and along the beach, and the spa welcomes adults only. Nine restaurants, bars and cafés range from Mediterranean to Chinese and Indian, and a weekly programme adds live music and themed evenings.
Location
The hotel stands on the coastal road at Belle Mare, on the east coast of Mauritius, opening straight onto the Indian Ocean beach. The concierge arranges golf transfers and trips around the island.
Spa
LUX* ME Spa is for adults only and builds its approach on the five elements — earth, water, fire, air and space. Treatments come from a signature menu or are shaped around each guest; special programmes include aqua therapy with stretching and acupressure in water, sessions in suspended hammocks and a spa ritual for expectant parents.
Sports & leisure
The resort keeps guests busy on land and water:
- a fitness centre with cardio, assisted stretching and aerial fitness, plus yoga and group classes
- tennis courts and beach volleyball
- paddleboarding, kayaking and windsurfing included in the stay; water-skiing, wakeboarding, catamaran sailing and glass-bottom boat trips also offered
- free snorkelling gear at the boathouse, daily snorkelling outings and boat trips to outer reefs
- sunrise swims, beach picnics, Mauritian cooking classes, rum tastings and a sea-turtle conservation programme
- a horse ride paired with a barefoot beach breakfast
- no course of its own: the concierge books tee times at several nearby courses and arranges transfers
For children
The PLAY kids’ club shapes its days around five themes — eating well, moving, caring, feeling and creating — with cooking workshops and an electronic games zone. Teenagers aged 12–17 have their own club, Studio 17, with entertainment pitched at their age, and babysitting can be arranged for parents.
Restaurants & bars
Nine restaurants, bars and cafés run from a poolside main restaurant to a beach club and a street-food kitchen inside a vintage limousine.
- Mondo — the main restaurant by the pool, international cooking and live stations from morning to evening
- Beach Rouge — beach club and Mediterranean restaurant, lit in red after dark
- Amari by Vineet — contemporary Indian cooking with Mauritian flavours in pink, earthy interiors
- Duck Laundry — refined Chinese cuisine, dishes for sharing and tasting menus
- Maison LUX* — Milan-style café and bar in the lobby for coffee, pastries and drinks
- Royce Street — a mobile kitchen in a vintage limousine in the gardens, South-east Asian street food for an afternoon snack
- ICI — ice-cream parlour with small-batch gelato, sorbet and granita in flavours that change daily
- The Mixologist — poolside cocktail bar overlooking the lagoon, inventive cocktails and mocktails
- Aperitivo Bar — bar by the main pool, booster shots in the morning and spritzes in the evening
Stays can be booked with breakfast, half board, full board or all-inclusive dining.
Swimming
A long white-sand beach and a calm lagoon lie in front of the resort. The large main pool sits at the heart of the grounds, with adults-only areas beside it and on the beach, and every villa has its own heated pool.
Rooms
Beach-hut-style suites spread over three floors in tones of white sand with coral and citrus accents, each with a terrace or balcony. One- and two-bedroom villas come with heated pools, gazebos and a butler.
Every room has a 55-inch interactive TV with films on demand, individual air conditioning, a minibar refilled daily, free high-speed Wi-Fi, a safe, a separate shower and LUX* bath products.
Junior Suite
Beach-hut-style suite on the ground, first or second floor with a king-size bed and a terrace with a day bed. Up to 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

Two rooms joined by a connecting door, one with a king-size bed and one with twin beds, plus a terrace with a day bed. Up to 4 adults and 3 children.
Ocean View Villa
One-bedroom villa with a heated pool, dining area, gazebo, ocean views and a private path to the beach; butler service. Up to 2 adults and 2 children.
Beach Front Villa
The villa closest to the shore: one bedroom, a tropical garden opening onto the beach, a heated pool, sun deck, gazebo, kitchen and dining pavilion; butler service. Up to 2 adults and 2 children.
The Grand LUX* Suite
One-bedroom penthouse with a king-size bed, dining room, cocoon sofa, bar cart, lit wardrobe and furnished balcony; a connecting room can be added. Up to 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.
