General information
Long Beach Mauritius is conceived as a modern Mauritian beach house: two-storey wings set in tropical gardens along Belle Mare beach on the east coast, facing the lagoon and an unspoilt coral reef. There are 255 rooms and suites, each with its own terrace or balcony, and the sunrises over the ocean are a signature of this shore.
The resort leans towards an active stay, with complimentary water sports, tennis and padel courts, cycling routes and a biodiversity trail that takes in the resort's beehives and a honey tasting. Five restaurants, including the Japanese Hasu, two bars, four pools and the GLOW spa complete the picture. There is no course of its own, but guests play unlimited rounds free of green fees at two partner courses on the island, and separate clubs look after children and teenagers.
Location
The resort sits on the coastal road at Belle Mare, directly on the beach on the east coast of Mauritius. The drive from Mauritius International Airport takes about an hour, and the hotel arranges transfers on request.
Spa
GLOW blends Eastern and Western practices with a Mauritian touch: Ayurveda-based massage, traditional bathing rituals, a broad choice of massage therapies, energy work by the sea and massages in a hammock on the beach. Facilities include nine single and three double treatment rooms (one with a Japanese bath), a 51 m² hammam, an outdoor pavilion in the tropical garden, a yoga pavilion and a beauty salon with hairdressing, manicure and pedicure.
Sports & leisure
There is plenty to fill the days:
- a 216 m² gym with Technogym equipment and a weekly programme of fitness classes; yoga and personal training at extra cost
- three tennis courts, padel and pickleball courts, beach volleyball and beach tennis, football, badminton, table tennis, bocce, a climbing wall and archery
- complimentary windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, pedal boats, kayaks, Hobie Cat sailing, a glass-bottom boat, snorkelling, aqua gym and water polo; waterskiing and sunrise kayaking at extra cost
- bicycle and e-bike hire, guided rides along the east coast and the Spice Spoon market tour and cooking experience
- a biodiversity trail through endemic trees, with a visit to the beehives and honey tasting
- golf: the resort has no course of its own, but guests enjoy unlimited free green fees at two partner courses — Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club on the island of Ile aux Cerfs (reached by boat) and the 18-hole Anahita Golf Club (by shuttle) — with a free daily introductory session at Ile aux Cerfs
For children
The complimentary Sunlife Kids Club welcomes children aged 2–11 from morning until late evening, with sport, crafts and age-appropriate evening fun. Teenagers aged 12–17 have the Teens Club, with a sports programme, outings and evenings of beach barbecues and pizza. Nannies and evening babysitters can be booked at extra cost, and there is a children's pool.
Restaurants & bars
Dining spans cuisines from around the world, with a resort-chic dress code in the evening.
- Le Marché — the main restaurant, with an international breakfast buffet and live cooking stations at dinner
- Sapori — Italian à la carte for lunch and dinner
- Tides — beachside and poolside, serving lunch, afternoon tea and candlelit dinners of fresh fish and Mauritian cuisine
- Chopsticks — Asian cooking with Chinese, Thai and Indian influences, for dinner
- Hasu — gastronomic Japanese with a grill, sushi counter and yakitori bar, for guests aged 12 and over
- Shores Bar — a bar overlooking the lagoon, known for Mauritian rums and tropical cocktails
- Tides Pool & Beach Bar — drinks by the pool and on the sand
Drinks and snacks are served on the beach and by the pools during the day, and room service runs around the clock.
Swimming
More than a kilometre of white sand on Belle Mare beach, looking onto the lagoon and the coral reef. There are four pools: the main pool, an adults-only infinity pool, a lap pool at the sports centre and a children's pool.
Rooms
The 255 rooms and suites are set on the ground or first floor, either in the tropical gardens or right by the beach. Every one has its own terrace or balcony.
Each room has individually controlled air conditioning, a smart TV, free Wi-Fi, an electronic safe, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities and USB sockets, plus a bathroom with separate bath, shower and toilet, toiletries, a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers.
Junior Suite
A ground- or first-floor suite with a king-size bed or twin beds and a spacious terrace or balcony over the tropical gardens. Sleeps three adults, or two adults and two children or teens.
Junior Suite Beachfront
A beachfront suite on the ground or first floor with a king-size bed or twin beds and a terrace or balcony giving straight onto the white sand. Sleeps three adults, or two adults and two children or teens.
Family Suite
A family suite with a king-size bed, a separate living area whose sofa bed turns it into a second bedroom, two bathrooms and a terrace or balcony over the gardens. Sleeps two adults with three children or two teens.
Long Beach Suite
The resort's largest suite, on the ground floor with sea views: a king-size bedroom, separate living area, walk-in wardrobe, guest toilet and a private terrace opening directly onto the beach. Sleeps two adults and two children.
