General information
Le Méridien Ile Maurice runs along a kilometre of beach at Pointe aux Piments on the north-west coast of Mauritius. There are 261 rooms and suites, 243 of them with a balcony or terrace looking over the lagoon, furnished in natural wood, soft fabrics and clean lines. The brand's taste for stylish, European-flavoured travel meets an unhurried resort rhythm here.
The resort is built first and foremost around families, with clubs for different ages, the Memory Makers family programme and a dedicated children's area by the pools. Couples have a world of their own in the secluded adults-only Nirvana wing, with 51 suites, a private reception, an infinity pool and its own bar. Four restaurants, two bars, the Explore Spa with its snow room and three pools complete the picture.
Location
The hotel sits directly on the beach at Pointe aux Piments on the north-west coast of Mauritius, not far from the cafés and shops of Grand Baie. Mauritius International Airport is about 60 km away, and the hotel arranges transfers on advance request.
Spa
Explore Spa works with Phytomer products and local ingredients, from coconut scrubs and lemongrass massages to Ayurveda-based treatments. Facilities include saunas, steam rooms and a steam grotto, a snow room, a cold plunge pool, a Jacuzzi, power showers, relaxation areas and guided yoga sessions, with a hair and beauty salon alongside.
Sports & leisure
Most of the activity centres on the lagoon and the beach:
- complimentary non-motorised water sports: stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats, windsurfing, Hobie Cat sailing and guided snorkelling
- waterskiing, glass-bottom boat trips and outings from the hotel boathouse to the northern islands and Grand Baie, including diving
- an ocean-view gym open around the clock, with cardio machines, free weights and a functional training zone
- floodlit clay tennis courts, with coaching available
- a games room with billiards, table tennis and board games, plus beach games and bocce
- the Memory Makers family programme: adventure challenges and treasure hunts, catch-and-release fishing in the lagoon, cooking classes for parents and children, games nights and storytelling around a beach bonfire
- golf: the hotel has no course of its own; the nearest is the 18-hole Mont Choisy Le Golf, 13.5 km away
For children
Right by the lagoon, Le Méridien Family Kids Club welcomes children aged 4–12 every day from 09:00 to 22:00, with supervised indoor and outdoor activities, crafts, nature adventures and storytelling. The youngest, aged 2–4, have Le Petit Club, open from 09:00 to 16:00, with sensory and creative play, free play, nap time, healthy snacks and a menu of their own. A family zone by the pools has small slides, and babysitting can be arranged.
Restaurants & bars
Dining spans Mauritian, Asian, Indian and Mediterranean cooking, with beach barbecues and dinners on the wooden jetty in the evenings.
- Nomad — the main restaurant, a buffet around an open kitchen with Mauritian and international dishes, for breakfast and dinner
- Jade — Asian fine dining drawing on Japan, Thailand and Cambodia, from sashimi to teppanyaki; breakfast here is reserved for Nirvana guests
- Kumin — Indian curries and tandoor dishes in a poolside setting
- Waves — relaxed beachside lunches by day and a grill of Indian Ocean seafood and local produce by night
- Latitude 20 — a bar for coffee in the daytime and cocktails at sunset
- Nirvana Pool Bar — cocktails and light bites by the Nirvana pool, for Nirvana guests only
Coffee Culture serves illy coffee, Scoop offers gelato and sorbets, and La Vie Rosé sets adults-only tables at the water's edge for rosé at sunset. Room service runs around the clock.
Swimming
A kilometre of sandy beach gives direct access to the calm lagoon. There are three pools: the Main Pool, the Pine Pool and the adults-only infinity pool in the Nirvana wing, with a separate children's area and slides by the family pools.

There are 261 rooms and suites, 243 of them with a balcony or terrace over the lagoon and the rest facing the tropical gardens. Fifty-one suites are gathered in the secluded adults-only Nirvana wing, and the Royal Suite and Plunge Pool Hideaway come with butler service.

Royal Suite
