General information
Opened in July 2019, Waldorf Astoria Maldives spreads across the three private Ithaafushi islands in South Malé Atoll, just half an hour by speedboat from the capital’s airport. Its pool villas stand on fine white sand or over an aquamarine lagoon.
The resort brings the service standards of a celebrated hotel brand to the Maldives: some ten restaurants and bars with ocean views and cuisines from around the world, a spa with pavilions on the shore and over the water, a kids’ club, and sport and entertainment for adults. Outdoor spaces are available for private events, alongside business services, a concierge and laundry, and weddings and honeymoon programmes can be arranged.
Location
The three private Ithaafushi islands lie in South Malé Atoll, 30 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport in Malé.
Spa
The spa comprises several pavilions on the shore and over the water, complemented by a wellness complex. Face and body treatments draw on Asian traditions, with a wide choice of massages.
Sports & leisure
There is an outdoor pool and a well-equipped fitness centre, with yoga classes and tennis. On the water, guests can try water sports, snorkelling, diving and boat trips, and there are entertainment programmes and excursions. Water sports equipment is available to hire.
For children
There is a kids’ club, and babysitting can be arranged on request.

Swimming
Sandy beaches fringe the islands, and the overwater and reef villas have steps straight into the lagoon.
Rooms
Villas are set in tropical gardens on the beach and on stilts over the lagoon. Maldivian tradition meets contemporary design, and every villa has its own pool and a terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Villas have air conditioning, a TV, a safe, a hairdryer, toiletries and bathrobes.
