General information
Pullman Maldives Maamutaa covers the 18-hectare island of Maamutaa in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, in the far south of the Maldives. Stays are all-inclusive only, with meals in the restaurants and drinks in the bars part of the stay. The island holds 122 villas and suites — on the beach, among the greenery and over the lagoon — including two-level villas with a bedroom beneath the water.
The mood is lively and relaxed: contemporary architecture set among tropical planting, evenings spent over sunset tapas, music by the pools or a game of pool. Some of the most biodiverse dive sites of the southern atolls are within easy reach. The resort works as well for couples as for families, with a kids’ club for several age groups, an overwater spa and three levels of event space.
Location
Maamutaa lies in Gaafu Alifu Atoll in the south of the country. From Velana International Airport in Malé, a domestic flight of about 55 minutes reaches Kooddoo, followed by a 15-minute speedboat ride arranged by the resort.
Spa
Pullman SPA stands over the water with views of the ocean. The resort works with the marine skincare brand Phytomer, so treatments draw on ingredients from the sea and aim at deep restoration. Towels, robes and slippers are provided for spa guests.
Sports & leisure
Days on Maamutaa mix the sea, exercise and easy evening entertainment.
- Diving with the Pullman Suvadiva Dive Center, a PADI 5 Star centre, exploring the coral reefs and marine life of the southern atolls
- Water sports: kayaking, water-skiing, windsurfing and jet-skiing
- Boat excursions and deep-sea fishing
- Fitness: a gym, aqua aerobics, Zumba, sunrise yoga and meditation, and a jogging track
- A tennis court, beach volleyball, table tennis and darts
- Evenings with karaoke, a pool table and DJ sets at Saffron Affair
For children
The kids’ club takes children from babies to teenagers, with separate groups for under-3s, 3–6s, 6–12s and over-12s, run by an energetic activities team. Children also have a play area, an outdoor playground, a video-game corner, board games and table football, and babysitting can be arranged on request.
Restaurants & bars
Three restaurants and three bars serve the island; breakfast is either a buffet at Mélange or à la carte at Sol Rising.
- Mélange — the all-day restaurant facing the beach, mixing Maldivian, French, Arabic, Italian, Chinese and Indian cooking, with live cooking stations and outdoor tables by the pool
- Phat Chameleon — vegetarian and vegan dishes in an organic herb and vegetable garden
- Souq Oven — Mediterranean and Italian cooking in an overwater setting, with around 80 international wines from the Vinoteca by Pullman list
- Saffron Affair — Spanish, Arabic and Maldivian tapas with sunset cocktails, a DJ and a pool table
- The HUB — an open-air bar beside the twin pools, with drinks, food and music from morning into the night
- Sol Rising — an overwater café and bar for coffee, fresh juices and cocktails
Swimming
A private beach and the lagoon ring the island, and the two-bedroom overwater villas have direct access to the lagoon. Twin pools for all guests sit beside The HUB, and many villas have a pool of their own.

Pets are not allowed.

The resort has 122 villas and suites: beach villas with and without pools, villas over the lagoon, family villas with a separate children’s room, two- and four-bedroom villas, and the two-level Aqua Villas with an underwater bedroom.
Each villa has a king-size bed, air conditioning, a TV, Wi-Fi, a sala (an open-sided lounging pavilion), a minibar restocked daily, a Nespresso machine and kettle, a safe, an iron, and a bathroom with a freestanding tub, twin vanities, a shower cubicle and an outdoor shower, plus robes and slippers.
