About this hotel
General information
Grand Park Kodhipparu has the island of Kodhipparu in North Malé Atoll to itself, just 20 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport in Malé. Run by Park Hotel Group, it has 120 villas, most of them set over the water along a curving wooden jetty. The architecture pairs contemporary lines with Maldivian tradition — timber, rattan, lofty palm-thatched roofs and natural tones that leave the colour of the sea to do the talking.
The island’s great draw is its house reef, reached straight from the beach or a villa deck, where eagle rays, white-tip reef sharks, turtles, batfish and parrotfish are regular sightings. A resident marine biologist leads snorkelling sessions and tends the coral nurseries, and the resort holds Green Globe Gold certification, runs on solar power, has done away with single-use plastic and bottles its own drinking water. Every guest is looked after by a personal Lifestyle Host, and a doctor is on call around the clock. Stays are offered on bed and breakfast, half board, full board or all-inclusive.
Location
Kodhipparu lies in North Malé Atoll, an area known for its dive sites, including wrecks close by. The trip from Velana International Airport in Malé takes about 20 minutes by speedboat, with no seaplane or domestic flight needed. Transfers are arranged by the resort only.
Spa
The Spa at Grand Park Kodhipparu stands over the lagoon, with seven treatment rooms looking out to the water, a relaxation room serving signature tea and light, healthy bites, and a beauty salon for manicures, pedicures, haircuts and styling. The menu draws on Balinese and Ayurvedic techniques and the marine skincare of Phytomer, with facials also using [comfort zone]. Treatments include Balinese, Thai and deep-tissue massage, warm stones, foot reflexology, the signature Kodhipparu Fusion Massage blending several Asian schools, Ayurvedic abhyanga and shirodhara, sound healing with singing bowls and marine mud wraps; several can be shared by couples. Twice a day, at sunrise and sunset, the resident yoga teacher leads complimentary hatha, aerial yoga and breathing sessions.

For children
Little Explorers Kids Club is open daily from 7am to 9pm, with a spacious playroom for games, crafts and entertainment run by its own team. The marine sports centre has activities just for children — the Scuba Ranger programme for ages 8–9, junior jet-ski rides and towed inflatables. There is a children’s pool beside the main pool, and babysitting for ages 3–12 can be arranged on request.
Restaurants & bars
The island has three restaurants and a wine cellar, plus in-villa dining and private meals set up around the island — from a champagne breakfast on a sandbank and a floating breakfast served on a dhoni-shaped tray in the villa pool to a five-course pergola dinner on the beach, a barbecue with a private chef, an outdoor cinema night or dinner on a floating deck.
- The Edge — the open-air main restaurant facing the lagoon, finished in locally crafted wood: buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, international cooking with an Asian accent and live cooking stations
- Breeze Poolside Dining & Bar — by the pool from 10am to 11pm: Asian and Mediterranean dishes, burgers, pasta and salads by day, cocktails, wine and light bites after sunset
- Firedoor — an evening restaurant above the reef with a glass floor and open kitchen: steaks and local seafood from the Josper grill, plant-based dishes and a pre-dinner bar
- Wine Cellar — an intimate cellar hosting multi-course dinners with a wine paired to each course
Swimming
The 45-metre infinity pool beside Breeze looks out over the Indian Ocean and has a built-in jacuzzi and a children’s section. Overwater villas have their own steps into the lagoon, onto the reef or into the open ocean, while beach villas open straight onto the sand. Masks and fins are lent by the marine centre for the length of the stay and life vests are kept in every villa; there are no lifeguards, so the tides are worth watching. As elsewhere in the Maldives, topless sunbathing is not permitted.
