Constance Halaveli Maldives

About this hotel

General information

Constance Halaveli Maldives has the island of Halaveli to itself in North Ari Atoll, its outline curving like the hull of a dhoni, the traditional Maldivian boat. White sand, a turquoise lagoon and dense tropical greenery set the scene; the resort belongs to the Mauritian group Constance Hotels & Resorts and is Green Globe certified.

Every villa comes with its own pool: 57 stand on stilts over the water, while 29 beach villas of four types sit in gardens along the shore. The island's particular pride is its wine cellars, holding more than 22,500 bottles across some 1,600 labels from 325 winemakers. Guests come for quiet and privacy, for diving in the waters of Ari Atoll, known for manta rays and turtles, and for a spa set over the ocean. Stays can be booked with breakfast, with breakfast and dinner, or all-inclusive.

Location

Halaveli lies in North Ari Atoll, about 25 minutes by seaplane or roughly an hour and a half by speedboat from Velana International Airport in Malé; the resort's own speedboat covers late arrivals and early departures. A resort team meets guests at the airport and escorts them to the seaplane, and the island has a clinic with a resident doctor around the clock.

Spa

Constance Spa stands on stilts over the lagoon, with ocean views from its four single and four double treatment rooms and a dedicated couples' suite. Facilities include a sauna, steam room, hot and cold plunge pools, a broad wooden deck for relaxing, a yoga studio and the Ocean Salon for hair, manicures and pedicures. The menu pairs Constance signature massages and facials based on Indian Ocean botanicals with Sisley phyto-aromatic treatments offered here exclusively, and full-moon sound-healing sessions.

Sports & leisure

TGI Diving Centre is a PADI centre teaching everyone from first-timers to professional level, with specialty courses on sharks, mantas and the marine environment and an underwater photographer and videographer on hand. Snorkelling gear is free for all guests.

  • guided snorkelling trips to the reefs of North Ari Atoll, traditional night fishing aboard a dhoni, big-game fishing, sunset cruises and private boat hire
  • complimentary non-motorised water sports — windsurfing, catamaran sailing, pedalos, canoes and paddleboards; jet-skis, water-skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing and towed inflatables at extra cost
  • a 24-hour gym with a Kinesis wall, personal and group training, boxing, functional training and aqua aerobics
  • a floodlit synthetic tennis court with complimentary rackets and balls, plus coaching
  • yoga and Pilates, beach volleyball, beach football and table tennis
For children

The Coconut Tribe kids' club welcomes children aged 4–11 daily from 9 am to 9 pm. Its programme is built around sustainability, STEAM experiments, kindness, wellbeing and local culture: scavenger hunts, games and relays, nature-based crafts, cooking sessions and tennis taster lessons. A separate imagination space for 4–6-year-olds has playhouses, play kitchens and ride-on vehicles. Kids' tennis, yoga and fitness sessions, a children's menu and babysitting are available at extra cost.

Restaurants & bars

The island has four restaurants and two bars; every menu carries vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices, and dishes marked with a wellness symbol follow a lighter, balanced approach.

  • Jahaz — the main restaurant, international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a themed buffet each evening, indoors or by the beach
  • Jing — intimate dinners of Asian–European fusion
  • Meeru — a grill on the sand for seafood and meats with bold, South American-leaning marinades, dinner only
  • Kaika Sushi — lunchtime sushi, sashimi and maki from an open counter overlooking the lagoon
  • Jahaz Bar & Lounge — the main bar by the ocean, with its own wine cellar
  • Jing Bar — cocktails and wines inside or on the terrace
Swimming

White-sand beaches ring the island, with loungers, parasols and light snacks and drinks served through the day. The main pool sits between Jahaz restaurant and the bar, and every villa has a private plunge pool, either on the beach or over the lagoon. Snorkelling gear is provided free.
