General information
EQ Kuala Lumpur occupies a 52-storey tower at the centre of Equatorial Plaza in the Golden Triangle, a few minutes on foot from the Petronas Twin Towers. The building holds a gold Green Building Index rating, and its interiors pair clean contemporary lines with Malaysian motifs, warm tropical earth tones and natural wood, while floor-to-ceiling windows frame the skyline, the Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Tower.
There are 440 rooms and suites, and the Equator Club lounge on Level 50 serves the club rooms and every suite. The top floor, Level 51 or Sky51, brings together the European restaurant Sabayon and the bar Blue with its open-air rooftop terrace, while Level 29 is given over entirely to Sanctum Wellness, with a pool, a spa and a 24-hour gym. Seven restaurants and bars, 13 meeting and banquet rooms and the 1,025 m² Diamond Ballroom suit the hotel equally to city breaks and business trips. The entire hotel is non-smoking.
Location
The hotel stands in the Golden Triangle, Kuala Lumpur’s central district for business, shopping and dining. The Petronas Twin Towers, the Suria KLCC mall, KLCC Park, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Bukit Bintang all lie within a 10–15-minute walk, and a covered walkway leads to the nearest monorail station. Airport transfers can be arranged through the concierge with advance booking.
Spa
Sanctum Spa on Level 29 has treatment rooms for single guests and for couples. Massage is at the heart of the menu — traditional Malay urut, Balinese, aromatherapy, deep-tissue and a sports massage — alongside flower-and-fruit, rose-salt and lemongrass-and-jasmine body scrubs, German BABOR facials, chromotherapy and longer face-and-body rituals, including a couples’ ritual that ends in a sea-salt milk bath. A Himalayan salt sauna, an aromatherapy steam room, a tropical monsoon shower and a hydrotherapy vitality pool complete the facilities; the spa welcomes guests from the age of 14.
Sports & leisure
Sanctum Fitness is open around the clock to hotel guests, with Technogym equipment for cardio, strength, circuit and functional training, group classes and certified personal trainers. After a session there are the Himalayan salt sauna, aromatherapy steam bath and tropical monsoon shower, and the 25-metre infinity pool is on the same floor.
Restaurants & bars
Seven restaurants and bars run from the rooftop on Level 51 down to a street-side bistro, and in-room dining is available:
- Sabayon — contemporary European fine dining on Level 51, with seasonal tasting menus, skyline views and a Sunday brunch open to guests of all ages
- Sky51 — the rooftop bar on Level 51: cocktails, light bites and live music with views of the Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Tower (guests aged 21 and over)
- Blue — a cocktail bar at Sky51 with an indoor room and an open-air terrace, live bands and resident DJs
- Kampachi — a long-established Japanese restaurant with a hinoki-wood counter, seasonal kappō-style menus, sushi and sashimi, and a Japanese buffet at weekends
- Nipah — all-day dining with Malaysian and Southeast Asian cooking and international buffets
- Bottega — an elegant lounge for afternoon tea, Italian cicchetti and aperitivo, created with the Italian house Bottega and pouring its prosecco
- Étoile — a French bistro at street level for freshly baked pastries and breads at breakfast, lunch and after-work drinks
Swimming
Level 29 holds a 25-metre saltwater infinity pool, temperature-controlled and fitted with underwater music, whose edge seems to run into the skyline and Kuala Lumpur Tower, with a lounge area alongside. The neighbouring vitality pool, with therapeutic hydro jets, is open to guests aged 14 and over.
Rooms
The 440 rooms and suites, from 40 m², are decorated in a contemporary Malaysian-inspired style with floor-to-ceiling windows and city views. Club rooms and all suites include the Equator Club lounge on Level 50: breakfast, afternoon tea, evening drinks with canapés, refreshments through the day, daily pressing of two garments and an hour in the club board room.
50-inch HD TV, free Wi-Fi, work desk and chaise longue, laptop-size safe, NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto coffee machine, complimentary minibar of snacks and soft drinks refreshed daily, cotton yukata, bathrobe and slippers, down duvets and pillows (hypoallergenic bedding on request), illuminated vanity mirror and hairdryer.

Premier King KL Tower View
Premier room with an unobstructed view of Kuala Lumpur Tower, a king bed and a separate bathtub and rain shower. Sleeps two.
Premier King Twin Towers View

Premier King Infinity
One of seven corner rooms on Levels 40–46 with a 180-degree view of the Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Tower; the bathtub faces the tower, beside a rain shower and twin basins. Two adults and a child under 12.
