About this hotel
General information
Le Royal is the classic grand hotel of Luxembourg City, set on Boulevard Royal in the heart of the capital and rated five-star Superior. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, it has 210 rooms and suites, a restaurant, a bar with a cigar lounge and its own health club with an indoor pool; the whole building is air-conditioned and non-smoking, and the concierge desk belongs to Les Clefs d’Or. Its reputation rests on attentive, individual service, valued equally by business travellers and by guests in town for pleasure.
The hotel holds the EcoLabel Luxembourg certification, encourages guests to use public transport and bicycles, and has charging points for electric cars in the car park behind the building. Nine reception rooms, 900 m² in all, can host up to 1,000 guests for meetings, banquets and weddings; the largest, the daylit Salon des Roses ballroom, seats up to 340, and a large terrace can be used for events in fine weather.
Location
The hotel stands at 12 Boulevard Royal in the Ville Haute, a short trip from the Chemin de la Corniche, the Bock casemates, the Grand Ducal Palace and Mudam. The nearest tram and bus stop is Hamilius; public transport in Luxembourg is free, with the tram running to the railway station and bus line 16 to Luxembourg Airport (Findel). On request and subject to availability, the hotel collects guests from the airport in a complimentary deluxe car. Paid parking is available, with the car entrance at the back of the building.
Spa
Club Santé brings together the spa, pool and gym. It has a hammam and a sauna, and its beauty salon for women and men works with Comfort Zone products: massages, anti-ageing treatments, hydrating and purifying facials, manicures and foot care. A treatment room for two allows couples to be looked after side by side. Under-16s may use the club only with an adult and are not allowed in the sauna or hammam.
Sports & leisure
Club Santé has a gym for daily workouts and a heated 12 m indoor pool open all year; the club is open daily from early morning until the evening. The city is easy to explore on foot or by free public transport, and the Les Clefs d’Or concierges can plan walks and museum visits.
Restaurants & bars
Both venues are on the ground floor and welcome non-resident guests as well:
- Restaurant Amélys — a French brasserie with an open kitchen: classic French cooking and Luxembourgish dishes from fresh market produce, a salad buffet, vegetarian and gluten-free options and desserts by the in-house pastry chef; buffet breakfast, a quick weekday business lunch, Sunday brunch and a flower-filled terrace in summer
- Royal Lounge — a contemporary bar serving breakfast and light dishes by day and classic and creative cocktails and a long whisky list by night, with a separate, cosy cigar lounge and live music on several evenings a week; open until 1 am
- In-room dining — round the clock, from breakfast to late-night snacks and drinks
Swimming
The heated 12 m indoor pool at Club Santé is open all year.
Pets
Dogs only are accepted in the bedrooms, for a supplement and with advance notice. Animals are not allowed in Club Santé.
