About this hotel
General information
Hotel PACAI occupies a 17th-century Baroque mansion on Didžioji Street, at the heart of Vilnius's UNESCO-listed Old Town. The oldest walls go back to the 15th century, and the restoration recreated the Baroque detailing and the roof using traditional materials — clay, tin, stone and reclaimed barn timber. A contemporary wing completes the ensemble, framing a generous inner courtyard that hosts art events and dinners.
Its 104 rooms and suites are all different: frescoes and old wall textures uncovered during the works are picked out with soft lighting, set against contemporary furniture and pieces by Lithuanian artists. The hotel has a restaurant built on seasonal local produce, a cocktail bar, the Cafe de Pacai patisserie and PACAI SPA with its own entrance. It is a member of Design Hotels.
Location
The hotel stands on Didžioji Street, one of the oldest streets in Vilnius's Old Town, a few steps from Town Hall Square. Vilnius University, the Gate of Dawn, Cathedral Square, Gediminas' Tower, the Bernardine Garden and St Anne's Church are all a few minutes' walk away. Transfers from Vilnius Airport can be arranged, with the driver waiting at the exit with a name sign; for guests in the Heritage Suite and the PACAI Suite, an airport pick-up by luxury car is included. Cars can be left in the hotel courtyard or with the valet.
Spa
PACAI SPA sits within the historic mansion, has its own entrance and is open to non-residents as well. It works with Biologique Recherche: face and body treatments are tailored after a skin analysis, and the products can be bought for use at home. The menu covers classic, hot-stone and deep-tissue massage, personalised treatments and rituals designed for one, for couples or for a group of friends. There is a sauna, a dry-air hammam, a relaxation lounge and a dedicated wellness food menu.
Sports & leisure
Guests have use of a small fitness room and the sauna, and rooms from Deluxe upwards come with workout kit. The hotel's PACAI Explore selection includes a private tour of the contemporary art gallery Vartai with a glass of wine, a visit to the MO Museum of modern and contemporary Lithuanian art, and a round at the European Centre Golf Club. The courtyard hosts art events and dinners.
Restaurants & bars
Food at the hotel draws on seasonal produce from Lithuanian farmers and responsible suppliers.
- PACAI Restaurant — familiar flavours built on seasonal vegetables, local farmer's cheese, herbs picked by the chefs, and responsibly raised meat and fish; dinner à la carte or as a tasting menu, a weekday lunch menu, Sunday brunch and breakfast every morning
- Bar PACAI — signature and alcohol-free cocktails, wine by the glass, beer, cider and a spirits list
- Cafe de Pacai — the patisserie at the same address: croissants, cakes and desserts, bread and chocolates, to eat in or take away
Pets
Small pets up to 7 kg are welcome for a supplement; they are not allowed in the restaurant, bar or spa. Registered assistance and guide dogs are also welcome.
