General information
A22 Hotel is an intimate five-star boutique hotel in Riga's Quiet Centre, a district where more than a third of the buildings are Art Nouveau. It occupies an early-20th-century Art Nouveau building on Ausekļa iela, where the original parquet floors and ornamental ceilings survive alongside design furniture, marble, walnut, velvet and a curated collection of artworks.
There are just 20 rooms and suites, each designed individually, and the mood is quiet and private: a round-the-clock concierge, a pillow menu, evening turndown and fresh flowers in the rooms. Dining centres on JOHN Chef's Hall and its tasting menu of Latvian produce, while the lower ground floor holds two saunas and a gym reserved for hotel guests. A daylit meeting room suits business breakfasts and private dinners.
Location
The hotel stands at Ausekļa iela 22 in Riga's Quiet Centre, beside Viesturdārzs, the city's oldest park. The Andrejosta waterfront on the Daugava is about 2 minutes' walk away, Alberta iela and its Art Nouveau façades 8 minutes, Old Riga about 10 minutes (1.4 km) and the Riga Passenger Port roughly 800 m. Riga Airport is 20 minutes by car; the hotel arranges chauffeured airport transfers as well as car journeys to Vilnius and Tallinn.
Spa
There is no full spa: instead, two small saunas on the lower ground floor are reserved for hotel guests. A sauna should be booked at least an hour ahead so it can be heated, and swimwear is required.
Sports & leisure
The gym on the lower ground floor is open around the clock and free for in-house guests, with towels and still water provided. The concierge arranges private city tours, opera and concert tickets and restaurant reservations. On foot, the Art Nouveau streets around Alberta iela and Elizabetes iela, the Daugava embankments and Old Riga with Dome Square and Riga Cathedral are all within easy reach.
Restaurants & bars
JOHN Chef's Hall, set in the hotel's historic hall, serves a tasting menu only: traditional technique meets a modern approach, built on produce from Latvia's regions, including foraged ingredients and harvests from partner farms and the hotel's own garden. It opens for dinner on several evenings a week, and one afternoon a week it serves afternoon tea with a glass of sparkling wine. Breakfast is à la carte — omelettes, eggs Benedict, home-baked bread and pastries, salads and cold cuts — with organic produce from local farmers, and it is open to non-residents too. JOHN Chef's Hall can also be booked for private dining.
Pets
Pets weighing up to 10 kg are welcome for a nightly fee and a refundable security deposit.
Rooms
20 rooms and suites, from Superior to a duplex and a two-bedroom suite, each designed individually with Art Nouveau touches, a king-size bed and views of Viesturdārzs park or the surrounding Art Nouveau buildings.
Every room has a king-size bed with premium linen, design furniture, an OLED TV, a Bose sound system, high-speed Wi-Fi, a kettle and coffee machine, a minibar, a rainfall shower, black bathrobes and slippers, Zielinski & Rosen toiletries, a hairdryer and a hair straightener.
Superior Room
A snug room with a king-size bed for one or two guests, dressed in rich textures and a restrained palette. Windows look onto the city's oldest park or Art Nouveau residential buildings.
Deluxe Room
A king-size bed, a seating area with a writing desk and a kitchenette with a marble splashback behind a glass partition; an extra bed can be added for a third guest. Views over the quiet quarter or Viesturdārzs park.
Suite
A suite with a king-size bed, a living area with leather armchairs and a dining table, and a marble-topped kitchenette; the bathroom has either a rainfall shower or a bath, and an extra bed is possible for a third guest. Views of the historic park or Art Nouveau buildings.
One Bedroom Suite
A generous bedroom with a king-size bed, a lounge with armchairs, a dining nook and a walnut kitchenette. Views of the park or the residential streets of the quarter; for one or two guests.
Signature Duplex Suite
A two-level suite with a spacious living room downstairs and, upstairs, a bedroom with a king-size bed and a wine-red velvet wall. Floor-to-ceiling windows face Viesturdārzs park, and the bathroom has both a bathtub and a rainfall shower.
Signature Suite
The hotel's largest suite, on the top floor overlooking Viesturdārzs park: two bedrooms with king-size beds, a living room, a walk-in wardrobe and a kitchenette with dining for four. The bathroom has a bathtub and a separate rainfall shower, sound is by Bang & Olufsen, and it sleeps up to four.
