Waldorf Astoria Kuwait is a city hotel in Kuwait City, connected directly to a large shopping and leisure centre. Its 200 rooms and suites are dressed in a restrained contemporary style, with wide windows over the city. The brand’s rituals set the tone: afternoon tea at Peacock Alley, a personal concierge, and Oscar the Bear, the Waldorf Astoria mascot familiar to younger guests.
A hotel within the hotel, the Ikaros Club gives its guests private check-in and check-out, a club lounge serving meals from breakfast through to dinner and dessert, a library, a business centre and a private meeting room. Elsewhere, the day divides easily between the Waldorf Astoria Spa and its hammams, a garden-framed pool and the hotel’s restaurants and café. Location
The hotel connects directly to The Avenues shopping centre. The city centre is about 14 km away and Kuwait International Airport about 12 km. Parking and valet parking are complimentary for hotel guests.
Spa
The Waldorf Astoria Spa has eight treatment rooms, three hammams, two vitality pools, a steam room and relaxation rooms, with private arrival and consultation lounges. The menu covers massages, facials and body treatments with AMRA and Tata Harper products, hammam rituals built around pearl, platinum or 24-carat gold, and olfactory meditation in a relaxation pod. The spa is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm.
Sports & leisure
The fitness centre is open around the clock to hotel guests, with personal training, fitness evaluations, private yoga and AMRA olfactory yoga on request. The outdoor pool is set in a garden with private cabanas.
For children
The complimentary Kids Club on the third floor welcomes children aged 4–12 daily from 10 am to 8 pm, with a different theme each day: team games, arts and crafts, face painting, kids’ yoga and Zumba, puzzles, LEGO and film sessions. The hotel also arranges themed celebrations for children up to 12, with cooking classes and a visit from Oscar the Bear, and childcare can be provided on request.
Restaurants & bars
Dining moves between the Mediterranean, Japan and a Parisian-style café:
- Ava — Mediterranean cooking with notes of the French Riviera, southern Italy and the Greek islands; breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner
- ROKA — modern Japanese cuisine: sushi, sashimi and dishes from the robata charcoal grill, in a room with an indoor terrace beneath a blossoming cherry tree
- Peacock Alley — a café inspired by New York and Paris, for coffee, light lunches, chocolates, macarons and the signature afternoon tea
- Oxio — a relaxed poolside restaurant among greenery, with dinner in private air-conditioned cabanas
- In-room dining — from breakfast in bed to late-night snacks
Swimming
The outdoor pool is wrapped in lush planting and open daily from 6 am to 6 pm, with private cabanas to reserve. The spa adds two vitality pools.

The 200 rooms and suites pair classic elegance with contemporary design and look out over the city. Ikaros rooms and suites, the Presidential Suite and the Royal Suite include access to the Ikaros Club for guests aged 16 and over.
