The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon

About this hotel

General information

The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon sits high above Toranomon in a tower, and every room looks out over the city — towards Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Bay or the downtown skyline. The interiors blend Japanese restraint with Western minimalism in pale wood, neutral tones and natural textures, while the plant-filled Lobby Bar feels like a garden suspended above the streets.

There are 206 rooms, including 22 suites and 15 rooms with private furnished terraces. Four restaurants and bars range from a wagyu steakhouse some 140 metres up to a cocktail bar by the entrance, alongside a six-room spa, a conservatory-style indoor pool and a 24-hour gym. The hotel has done away with single-use plastic: keys and many amenities are made of wood and bamboo, and water comes in aluminium bottles. Four meeting rooms combine into a 277 m² space for private events.

Location

The hotel stands in Toranomon in Minato ward, with direct access to Kamiyacho subway station; Roppongi-itchome and Toranomon stations are also close by. Nearby are Shiba Park, with its views of Tokyo Tower, Atago Shrine on its hill and the Toranomon Yokocho food alley. The concierge arranges private-car transfers from Narita and Haneda airports on request ahead of arrival.

Spa

The SPA at The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon has six treatment rooms, including a couples’ suite, along with a sauna, a steam room and an outdoor relaxation deck. Body, facial and scalp treatments use products made in Japan and France.

Sports & leisure

The 24-hour gym is equipped with 17 multifunction Technogym machines, with personal screens on the cardio equipment, and personal training can be arranged; it is open to guests aged 16 and over. For exploring the city, the hotel lends its own tokyobike bicycles free of charge, and the concierge helps plan the route.

Restaurants & bars

Four venues cover the day from breakfast facing Tokyo Tower to late-night cocktails, with plant-based dishes on every menu and in-room dining around the clock.

  • The Jade Room + Garden Terrace — a modern steakhouse built around Japanese wagyu, seafood and seasonal vegetables from producers across Japan, with a jade-accented dining room, two private rooms and an open-air terrace some 140 metres up, open in season
  • The Blue Room — all-day dining from breakfast through lunch, a weekend feast and dinner: international classics, plant-based salads, fish from the local market, grilled meats and sharing platters
  • Lobby Bar — a bar set among greenery overlooking Tokyo Bay and Tokyo Tower, with bespoke cocktails, a selection of spirits and afternoon tea
  • Gold Bar at EDITION — an evening cocktail bar on the ground floor beside the entrance, reworking the classics with modern techniques and Japanese flavours
Swimming

The heated 14-metre indoor lap pool is laid out like a conservatory, its tall windows filling the space with daylight, and a 2.5-metre jacuzzi sits alongside. The pool is open daily from morning to evening and must be booked in advance; children aged four and over swim with an accompanying adult.
