About this hotel
General information
The Ritz-Carlton Osaka, the brand’s first hotel in Japan, occupies a contemporary tower in Nishi-Umeda, Osaka’s business and shopping district, within easy reach of the city’s main sights. Rooms combine classic European elegance with refined Japanese touches, and windows look out across the city and its surroundings. For all its central address in a busy metropolis, the hotel itself is quiet.
The restaurants cover Japanese, Cantonese, French and Italian cooking, and the main bar holds more than 100 malt whiskies and 110 martinis. Nine function rooms totalling 2,432 m², including a ballroom for up to 1,500 guests, and a business centre serve meetings and celebrations, and the hotel hosts weddings. The health club has a heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym.
Location
The hotel is in Nishi-Umeda, a five-minute walk from the West Exit of Osaka Station and not far from Osaka Castle and Universal Studios Japan. Kyoto is 30 minutes away by train, Kansai International Airport 60 km and Itami Airport 20 km.
Spa
The Ritz-Carlton Osaka Spa and Fitness has a heated indoor pool, vitality pools, an outdoor Jacuzzi, saunas, steam rooms and a quiet garden. Treatments draw on local ingredients, a matcha facial and a sake ritual among them, and facials use ESPA and La Prairie products.
Sports & leisure
A 24-hour gym and the heated indoor pool cover training and swimming, and hotel staff lead running and cycling tours to Osaka Castle and other landmarks.
For children
Younger guests have the Ritz Kids programme, rooms are set up for families, and the restaurants offer children’s menus.
Restaurants & bars
Four restaurants and two bars span Japanese, Chinese, French and Italian cuisine.
- Hanagatami — Japanese dining in a room evoking a flower garden: kaiseki, sushi at a seven-metre cypress counter, tempura, teppanyaki and sumibiyaki over charcoal
- Xiang Tao — Cantonese cooking and dishes from other Chinese regions
- La Baie — classic and contemporary French cooking with an extensive wine list
- Splendido — Italian cooking and breakfast in an all-day restaurant on the ground floor
- The Bar — 460 drinks, among them more than 100 malt whiskies and 110 martinis
- The Lobby Lounge — English tea, coffee, desserts and evening cocktails to live piano music
