About this hotel
General information
The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho occupies the upper floors of a high-rise tower in the Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho complex, in the Kioicho quarter of Chiyoda. Rooms, restaurants, bars and the spa sit between the 30th and 36th floors, so nearly every corner of the hotel looks out over central Tokyo. The interiors are built around the idea of “levitation”: more than a hundred artworks hang in its rooms and halls, and nine contemporary pieces stand in the grounds of the complex.
The quarter keeps traces of old Tokyo. It takes its name from three noble households whose residences stood here in the Edo period, and the slopes along the former outer moat of the palace are still green. The hotel has 250 rooms and suites, a Japanese restaurant, an all-day restaurant on the 36th floor, two bars, a spa with an indoor pool and a club lounge, and it runs its own cultural programme for guests, from tours of its art collection to a tea ceremony high above the city.
Location
The hotel stands in the Kioicho quarter of Chiyoda, close to the Imperial Palace and Akasaka. An underground walkway leads to Akasaka-mitsuke Station on the Ginza and Marunouchi lines, a minute’s walk away, and Nagatacho Station connects directly to the complex. Tokyo Station is about 10 minutes by car, Haneda Airport about 30 minutes by expressway and Narita about 1 hour 40 minutes, with an airport bus running between Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho and Narita.
Spa
SPA KIOI by SWISS PERFECTION is on the 30th floor, some 140 metres above the ground, with views across the city. Its treatment rooms work with the Swiss brand Swiss Perfection, and the menu covers the brand’s signature treatments, the spa’s own programmes, treatments for couples and care for expectant mothers. Alongside is a bathing area with baths, a sauna and changing rooms, included for guests on the Club Floor, in Grand Deluxe rooms and in suites.
Sports & leisure
The 24-hour gym on the 30th floor is fitted with Technogym equipment and looks out over the city centre. For staying guests the hotel runs the Gallery Experience programme:
- a tour of the Japanese artworks in the hotel, led by a member of staff
- a tea ceremony in the Tenkūan tea room on the 36th floor, where guests also prepare tea themselves
- an introduction to sushi etiquette at the counter of WASHOKU SOUTEN
- tastings of vintage Japanese whisky at Sky Gallery Lounge Levita and of sake at the WASHOKU SOUTEN sake bar
- a jogging map of routes around the Imperial Palace, taking in green spaces and historic sites
- a helicopter flight to a winery at the foot of Mount Fuji, with a tour, a wine tasting and lunch
For children
Children have activities of their own: in Little Chef’s Vegetable Garden they build a small vegetable planter and make a dressing from seasonal vegetables with a chef at OASIS GARDEN; Little Camp in the Room turns the room into a campsite with camping gear supplied by the hotel; and Search & Find Animals sends them looking for figures of a boar, a deer and a butterfly around the complex, with a small gift for finding all three.
Restaurants & bars
The restaurants and bars fill the 35th and 36th floors, some 180 metres up, and in-room dining runs around the clock.
- WASHOKU SOUTEN — contemporary Japanese cuisine: kaiseki, teppanyaki and counter sushi, with a sake bar and private rooms; it also hosts Immersive Dining evenings with projection mapping and surround sound
- All-Day Dining OASIS GARDEN — Eastern Mediterranean cooking from an open kitchen in a room conceived as a garden in the sky, on the 36th floor; buffet, à la carte and set menus
- Sky Gallery Lounge Levita — a cocktail lounge in a two-storey atrium, with a waterfall of glass art and tall windows onto the city
- The Bar illumiid — an intimate classic bar by reservation, with a private room for small groups
Swimming
The indoor pool on the 30th floor runs along floor-to-ceiling windows, so the water seems to merge with the sky above the city, and the loungers at its edge face the view. The pool is free for hotel guests and open to swimmers aged 13 and over.
Pets
Pets are not accepted.
