The Peninsula Tokyo

About this hotel

General information

The Peninsula Tokyo is a contemporary 24-storey tower in the Marunouchi business district, facing the Imperial Palace and Hibiya Park and close to the shops and restaurants of Ginza. Rooms combine modern design with Japanese tradition, thoughtful technology and comfortable furniture, and look out over the city, the Imperial gardens and the park.

The Peninsula Spa occupies the sixth floor, and a 20-metre pool has a balcony over the Imperial gardens and Hibiya Park. Dining ranges from modern French at Peter on the 24th floor and Cantonese at Hei Fung Terrace to kappo at Zuicho, teppanyaki and tempura. Two ballrooms, the glass-walled Sky Room and a Japanese-style ceremony room host events, the Sky Chapel on the 24th floor is used for weddings, and there are shops including three jewellers, car hire and a chauffeured fleet led by Rolls-Royces.

Location

The hotel is in central Tokyo, in the Marunouchi business district, opposite the Imperial Palace and Hibiya Park and next to Ginza; it connects directly to Hibiya Station, with Tokyo and Ginza stations close by. Narita International Airport is 80 km away.

Spa

The Peninsula Spa & Wellness Center on the sixth floor has nine treatment rooms, each with a private shower, yukimi shoji screens and a heated bed, and a thermal area with aromatic steam rooms, dry saunas, experience showers and ice fountains. Treatments pair Ayurveda-based aromatherapy by Subtle Energies with anti-ageing facials by Margy’s Monte Carlo.

Sports & leisure

The wellness floors house a 24-hour fitness centre with Technogym equipment and personal trainers, and a heated 20-metre indoor pool with an adjoining vitality pool and a balcony over the Imperial gardens and Hibiya Park. Peninsula Academy experiences include kintsugi and bonsai workshops and private rickshaw rides.

Restaurants & bars

  • Peter: The Bar – cocktails built on ingredients from Japan’s regions, with views of Ginza and Hibiya Park
  • Hei Fung Terrace – Cantonese classics and handmade dim sum in an interior inspired by a Suzhou garden, with private rooms facing the Imperial gardens
  • Zuicho – Japanese kappo cuisine, served omakase at the counter

  • Ten-ichi – tempura from a Ginza house founded in 1930
