About this hotel
General information
Patina Osaka occupies a 20-storey building on the edge of Osaka Castle Park: the park is a minute’s walk away, and many windows look straight out at the castle. The hotel takes the rhythm of the Japanese seasons as its theme, and its interiors lean on natural materials — warm wood, hand-finished plaster, washi paper and stone. There are 221 rooms and suites from 50 m², with full-height windows facing the castle or the city.
A whole floor of 1,400 m² is given over to Patina Wellness, with a spa, health technology, an indoor pool and a fitness centre. Five restaurants and bars cook with seasonal produce from local farmers, and some of the produce is grown in the hotel itself. On the top floor, The Listening Room is a quiet space for vinyl played through hand-built speakers, while the Perpetual Journey programme brings together art, music, food and wellbeing. For celebrations the hotel has its own chapel and a ballroom.
Location
The hotel stands in Osaka’s central Chuo ward, across the road from Osaka Castle Park, with the Osaka Museum of History and Hokoku Shrine close by. Metro and JR stations are an 8–10-minute walk away. Kansai International Airport is 50 km off (50–55 minutes by car) and Itami Airport 18 km (20–25 minutes). Private transfers from both airports and from Shin-Osaka bullet-train station can be arranged in advance.
Spa
Patina Wellness brings together Patina Spa, with single and couple’s treatment rooms (the couple’s massage beds face Osaka Castle), and a HealthTech menu of cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen and hydrogen therapy, a far-infrared sauna and full-body LED treatments. Spa treatments include facials with Oskia and Sophistance products, among them one built on fermented rice extract and yuzu, as well as body treatments. There is also a sauna, a hydrotherapy suite and a relaxation room; the spa and gym are open to guests aged 16 and over.
Sports & leisure
The gym is open around the clock and equipped by Technogym, including its AI-driven Biostrength system for tailored assessments, alongside a studio for yoga and classes and certified trainers for one-to-one sessions. The Listening Room holds vinyl sessions every morning and evening and can also be booked privately. MATE electric bikes are available for exploring the city, and the Perpetual Journey programme introduces guests to Osaka’s art, music, food and everyday life.
For children
A babysitter speaking Japanese and English can be arranged on request.
Restaurants & bars
Menus across the hotel follow the seasons, and in-room dining runs 24 hours.

- IÑAKI — a Basque grill and rotisserie with an open kitchen on the 19th floor, looking over Osaka Castle and the city; breakfast is served here too
