About this hotel
General information
Janu Tokyo is the city hotel of Janu, a brand of Aman Group, set within Azabudai Hills in Tokyo’s Minato ward. Its 122 rooms and suites are light, pared back and framed by floor-to-ceiling glass, most with their own balcony looking over the city and Tokyo Tower. The mood is more sociable than a hushed retreat: the hotel is built around gathering, shared tables and movement.
Food and wellbeing carry the place. Eight restaurants and bars range across Japanese, Italian and Chinese cooking, open-flame grilling and a patisserie, while the 4,000 m² wellness centre combines one of the city’s largest gyms with a 25-metre pool and private Spa Houses. The hotel boutique stocks Aman Essentials beauty and fragrance, ready-to-wear, leather accessories and homeware alongside pieces made by local artists and artisans.
Location
The hotel stands at 1-2-2 Azabudai, inside Azabudai Hills between Roppongi and Toranomon, a district of planted walkways, galleries, a Japanese food market and shops. The hotel puts Haneda Airport about 30 minutes away, Narita about an hour and a half, and Tokyo Station 15–20 minutes.
Spa
The 4,000 m² Janu Tokyo Wellness Centre has treatment rooms and two private Spa Houses for long bathing journeys of two to four hours, among them a traditional hammam. A Janu signature treatment is offered alongside, as are consultations with the centre’s specialists.
Sports & leisure
Movement takes up much of the wellness centre:
- a large gym and a personal training studio
- movement, spin and martial arts studios
- a golf simulator
- aerial yoga in private and group sessions, boxing, circuit training and spin classes, with some group classes complimentary for guests
- a 25-metre indoor lap pool
- cultural experiences on request: a kumihimo silk-braiding workshop at the Domyo studio in Tokyo and a private bonsai lesson just outside the city
