About this hotel
General information
InterContinental Osaka occupies the upper floors of a tower in the northern part of Grand Front Osaka, in the heart of Umeda — the city’s district of railway stations, shops and restaurants. The lobby sits on the 20th floor, so the skyline unfolds from the moment of arrival. Interiors draw on natural stone, wood, glass and shoji paper, pairing Japanese restraint with a contemporary sense of polish.
There are 272 rooms, suites and residences in all: 215 rooms and suites, plus 57 one-, two- and three-bedroom residences with their own kitchens. Club guests use the Club InterContinental lounge on the 28th floor. The hotel has the French restaurant PIERRE, NOKA Roast & Grill, a bar, a tea lounge and a patisserie, along with MEGURI SPA & WELLNESS, an indoor pool, a Japanese bathhouse with saunas and a 24-hour gym.
Location
The hotel is in Tower C of the Grand Front Osaka North Building, in Osaka’s Kita district. JR Osaka Station, Umeda Station on the Midosuji metro line and Osaka-Umeda Station on the Hankyu and Hanshin lines are each about 5 minutes’ walk away, and Shin-Osaka is around 4 minutes by JR train. Itami Airport is about 30 minutes by limousine bus or taxi; Kansai is about an hour by limousine bus or taxi, or roughly 65 minutes by JR limited express to Osaka Station. The hotel runs no shuttle of its own.
Spa
MEGURI SPA & WELLNESS takes its cues from Osaka’s history and the Five Elements philosophy, with mindfulness at its centre. Every treatment room is a suite; the menu covers body and facial treatments, and the signature OMOTENASHI Journey is built around Osaka’s tradition of hospitality. Guests booked for treatments of 90 minutes or longer may use the Japanese bathhouse beforehand. Treatments are for guests aged 13 and over.
Sports & leisure
The 24-hour gym has free weights, cardio machines, a private exercise room and a stretching area, with personal training available for a fee. On the 4th floor, a Japanese bathhouse modelled on a traditional hot-spring inn has bathing pools, dry and steam saunas and a relaxation area. The concierge team arranges car hire, guides and itineraries across Osaka, Kyoto and Nara — Osaka Castle, the HEP FIVE Ferris wheel or Universal Studios Japan — and bicycles are available on request. Club guests can join sake tastings, kumiko coaster-making sessions and Tsugaru shamisen performances.
For children
The concierge can arrange a babysitter; requests should be made at least a week ahead.
Restaurants & bars
Two restaurants, a bar, a tea lounge and a patisserie, plus in-room dining:

- STRESSED — a bright patisserie set among greenery, with playful sweets and the hotel’s own gift confections
